What would they think of us?
Okay, I've been looking for something new to light my poi with since I can never seem to get a lighter that works more then once, which remined me that there was a site with tricks you could do with zippo lighters, so I went looking for it and found this article

So, what does everyone here think they'd say about a site that promotes fire spinning?
Was going to wirte more but I'm in a hurry now, sorry.
btw Friday was the first chance I've had to spin fire all year.

and we use fuel based candle lighters (thin tube, looks like a candle, except you fill with paraffin and light the wick.
or you could use candles!

yep, i use candles. usually put one inside an old pinapple tin to stop the wind getting to it. lighters can be a bitch if your poi are dripping and any parafin drops through the flame onto your hand.
but that tube idea sounds funky. what the equiptment and how do you set it up shu?
somehting else ive seen used are these huge wooden garden candal type things. they are basically a log with a diameter of about 20 cm, with a hloe right through the middle and an exit out to ne side. theres another piece of wood (thin twig typer thing) that goes through the hole. you light that the whole thing goes up. looks quite atmosphric. too. unfortunately the are a one use thing.

No prob with the HoP thing, can you link me to the topic though, I'd like to see what they thing over there.
Going to buy myself a Zippo on the weekend, I like pretty much everything you can manipulate like that.
I think that site being shut down is really alarmist. They promote fire safety and much as we do. Seems to have a lot to do with one side having no idea what it's talking baout.
