So can anyone see the new look website or is it still theold grey one?
It should be mainly white with a big blue flame acroos the back
It's only about half way finished but i like it so much more than the grey one that i thought i'd make the switch. You can change your theme in "Your Account" >>> Themes. the old one is called wild and the new one is called sphism
If you have any problems with it gimme a shout.
I'm totally open to suggestions about the graphics so if you have any input put in in this thread. I'm going to do a nice flash header a tthe top, gonna sort out the rather odd grid lines in the forum and probably separate offf the background flame so it doesn't scroll with the rest of the page.
This theme should load quicker than the old one, i'm thinking or having a lite version without the blue flame.
If you are a firefox user and want a totally sphercular experience download the "noia 2 extreme" theme to get matching scroll bars.

oh so funky!! nice that you can see the text loads easier. the only thing now is leaving the site to go and work will be so much harder....... visually mouch more pleasing. cheers for all the work you put into this site man. peace

Well I changed but nothing else seems to have, although all the borders between posts and stuff are now fucked
Can we have one without a Flash logo? I'll block it anyway, but it'd save me the effort

glad you like it jon, the old one was a nightmare to read on dark monitors.
spiralx, you may have to change your theme setting manually, i think i can override everyones elses but perhaps not moderators.
But if the forums are fecked then i have overiden your settings for that.
Why do you block flash? DO people generally want a flash header (similar to the old theme but better) or shall i just use html for the header?

I like the theme- much brighter and fresher than the old one
I had to change mine manually, though the borders went without me trying, so i guess its the same for Spiralx, though I'm not a mod so ?!
Might this be dependent on when pople joined- older members not being as well set up as newer?

The width of the site doesn't change dynamicly anmore when I resize my Browser width?
Is this intention? I like the stretchyness cause I can read more on the screen.
Just seems a waste of screen.

Yeah I quite like it fixed but it's only like that because it didn't work when i tried setting it as 90%

Well I have spent about 20 hours in the past 2 days editing this new theme, I dig it a lot, it's what i have been intending to do since the start but just never had time.
How do you like the new navigation bar <= It's seems pretty good to me and has some useful little features.
Well i'm off to sleep, it's been a long day.
Next mission is to get a chat room working
Anyone got any ideas? I'm planning on using flashchat from tucows, looks pretty sweet and i can get a block to show who's chatting.

You have to change the theme in the your account link on the left not in your profile at the top...
The new theme is pretty but can make some posts hard to read - would a variation with some kind of fixed background for the text be doable at some point?
It's not so much that I have a problem with Flash, just whacking great animated logos at the top of every page...

Actually the readabilty issue would be easily solved by having the standard font a bit bolder than it currently is - the stuff on the index page is easy to read.

You can change the font size by holding Ctrl and rolling your scroll wheel.
I want the background flame to be stationary, but for that i believe i need to use iframes. Which i learnt how to do the other day. The problem is that anyone who has bookmarked this page will get a white background and will have to go to the new page with the background which loads the empty one over the top. Also do iframes work on all browsers or is there another way to do it??? css???
I want to use flash so that i can make little adverts for interesting parts of the site. So that I can get people to access all the information easier. A lot of the stuff on the site is hidden away. That's why i've added the 3 random gallery blocks on the home page to bypass some of the fannying about and get people used to navigating the site.

Was it in the top left menu, i can hardly remember, you can get to it through the user menu further down but i'll add it to the Members Menu top left
How do you like the static background? I love it, took ages to get teh css in the right place and use it from the theme php file. But i managed it with your help, thanks everyone. It opens up a lot of interesting things.
And have you seen 'la spherculism' lol, jon wrote the intro, i added the links and a bit in the language folder for the buttons, gonna correct them but it's a good start, we'll get it translated into german soon.
