Hey there... I've been lurking for a while now so thought I should finally introduce myself; I'm Magenta and I've been spinning on and off for a couple of years... never really put much into it though, but got all inspired again when I saw some girl doing some amazing tricks in a club so am determined to get good! Love the site... even though I don't know what you're all talking about sometimes :oops:
Anyway, sure I'll be seeing more of you all

if you dont understand something after youve had a look through a post, just add on a reply and ask for some clarification. to be honest, i dont understand some of the written stuff that describes what i can do.... which can make everything rather confusing....
this site is a great place to learn new stuff, and i hope you get lots of inspiration

Hey Magenta,
No need to feel shy, you'll find everyone round here particularly friendly.
Text is a dreadful means of explaining poi and everyone finds it hard to write and to understand a lot of the text.
That's partly why i made a load of videos, to help people discuss ideas.
There is plenty of stuff on this site that i don't understand, some of which i can do, some of which i can't.
But it's easy to ask poiple and you get a pretty good response around here, let's see if it works....

I can do regular butterflies in both directions and thread the needle.... Can someone please help me? Are there any videos or good threads I can check out?"
Then you can just sit back for as long as it takes for someone to come help you.
The best bit for the person who helps you comes in a a couple weeks time when you post up in the 'New to You' forum to tell us all you've nailed the move and discovered some new stuff for yourself.

matt, it's not so much the colour thing as my favourite character from the Rocky Horror show... *love* that film! although now you come to mention it, it is a pretty cool colour too...
