Well, might be a stupid question... :)

But as much as I searched, I couldn't find a good explanation on how to actually do a hyperloop.
I just learned to do a basic airwrap - spinning both poi clockwise infront of me, I tangle the poi with the right hand under the left, and then they untangle by themselves.
Now what do I need to know to start working on a hyperloop?

I know this question must have been asked a million times already, but I didn't manage to find it...

Thanks a lot,
Guy

what you are doing could be a hyperloop just as easily as it could be an airwrap so that makes it hard to tell..

there's a pretty nice thread right below this one. that has pretty unmistakeable pics of airwraps.

can you do a thru wrap?.

Don't ever worry about asking questions, no one round here is ever gonna shout at you and tell you to 'Go Search' Sphism/smilesmiley

Check out that tangle diagrams thread, that's where we're currently focusing on how to clearly teach tangles, personally i don't use the words hyperloop or airwrap cos they are too misleading and no one understands what they mean any more.

Check out that thread, see if the images help, ask for more info and we'l provide it,

I'm starting to get the idea!

Thank you very much...
I'll probably post again soon when I get confused on the next step Sphism/smilesmiley
It's great to see that you guys put so much time and effort into explaining this stuff to others.

To be honest i'm only really just begginging to understand tangles myself to a point where i can teach someone efficiently.

It's very hard to learn how to teach without good students, i love to teach what i know. I find that it's the only good way to really understand what you're doing.

I'm very keen to find a nice way of teaching all the tangle stuff, the language is hard but can be made a lot simpler, the whole concept of doing them is over complex. Linking the ideas of tangles and thru wraps makes it all a lot easier I think .

Anyway, give us a shout whenever you like,

Oh, and what is a thru wrap?

lol.. hey matt.. wouldnt you agree that a twist is like a through wrap and tangles are like inversions?

thruwrap
thruwrap on the elbow
this one is more like how a twist operates.. only instead of moving up to the elbow.. push it down onto the string..

another example of a thruwrap that is VERY twist like would be this
