Hi! I'm new to spherculism and pretty new to poi too, I started when I bought my first poi at glastonbury this year. I was looking up moves when I found spherculism. If anyone has tips for beginners, I'm always open to suggestions!

Advice for beginners.... hmm...
I'd say: Try to learn the moves you like the look of. No matter how complicated they seem. Poi is all about motor neuron learning which is very specific to the actual motions you are carrying out. The sooner you start trying something the sooner you will get it. I don't believe any trick is dependant on any others. Having said that there are some tricks that make others easier.
Also, don't let anyone tell you that something is too complicated or technical to flow with. What these people are really saying is "I haven't managed to integrate this move into my spinning. there is no move that can't flow. You just need to find it's place.

Hehe I'm a Miss not a Mr. ...and no, I'm not a smack addict, never touched the stuff. I don't know where the name came from, a lot of my aliases are really... weird. I'm Bondagepanda in some places, hah.
Yeah, I'm from the UK. I live in a village outside Peterborough, if you know where that is. Its uh, near Cambridge.
Thanks for the tip! I have been trying to learn some tricks, most arent hard once you get the hang of them but I had trouble hitting myself in the head a lot, hehe. I actually gave myself a bruise because I kept hitting exactly the same place on my forehead!

Yeah, I tend to spin quite slowly anyway because my poi arent too durable and broke once. Also it hurts less if it hits you slower
