hi guys!
I need your help :!: can t upload avatar. it says the pic has to be max 6kb... i don t have just bigger pics. any ideas? cheers

sometimes saving as a different fle type can make it smaller...
sometimes shrinking the image cna make it smaller.. or blowing it up and then shrinking it.. because I think reducing the resolution of the image like that shrinks it..
apart form that I can't say I'm much help.. I have tons of avatars that I can never use on some sites..

Avatars have been screwed for ages- i managed to delete mine last year and pm'd matt a few time about it but alas he was already off to pasture new, and thus it never resolved- one day

Right i've had a look tru the avatars system and it has been pretty forked, however, it should kinda be working again. Chutney your image is there but your profile tries to link you to an old deleted one, so i guess you need to upload it again.
Weirdly i can't specify your avatars for you, i can link you to an external file but not point it at the file on the server.
By far the best thing to do is have an image on your own server and link to that (to find the location of an image on the net just right click on it and select properties, copy and paste the http://.............. to your profile settings)
or you can upload one, which should work now, but who knows,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT NEW AVATARS
SO then, the new system is a bit special.
You upload as many crazy photos to your gallery as you like.
1 will be automatically selected as YOUR ALBUM photo, ie the image you see on your album when in the Poiple folder of the gallery.
To change the automatic one, just go to your album and in the options under each photo select MAKE HIGHLIGHT and follw the steps to say you want this photo to be the highlight of your album.
That photo will be asigned to your avatar. It won't be instant, but it will happen.
Currently i have to go to a page that goes thru and builds all the new avatars, but that will be automated soon.
The great thing about this system is that you can upload any image, any size, any file type, blah, and the gallery will make a nice little thumbnail avatar for ya. Couldn't be easier.
That should sort it all out for ya.
