another cool vid mate!
nice to see you have a young apprentice! heres some general thoughts....
at the moment you seem to be thinking of transitions between moves, ie weave, then buzzsaw, isolate, back to weave, butterfly. etc
for someone watching, the variation only skips betwen a few set patterns. ive been experimenting with movement more and more over the past weeks, and ive been looking at what patterns i can get though moving my body in different ways, rather than moving it to create a fixed pattern. so for example, with the poi going same direction, not to mention putting in turns and under the leg stuff.
if you like throws, experiment with them more. i think you only use one hand and do the same throw? you can swap the poi into the other hand while you throw. throw behind the back and turn round so you catch the poi in front of you...
so i guess what im trying to say is look for all the variations there are in the paterns you do and then challenge them. try doing one beat of a pattern and then going into something else for onw beat, and then something else etc etc. having said that, i tend to get lost in thinkgs like infinite hyperloops for half an hour at a time just enjoying the motion the poi make.... ahhhhhh (sigh). ho hum. but keep up the good work!
peace
