Im Joel, Ive been spinning poi for about 8 months now, I also fire breath and eat which ive been doing for 2 years. i joined because I heard the vids here were very good (which they are) and i was looking for more inspiration and new stuff to learn.
also does anyone know what chemicals to mix with parafin that will change the colour of the flame but so that its not to poisonous to fire breath with?

Hey Everyone
Hello Joel, welcome to the site. Always nice to see new members around.
You picked a particularly exciting time to join up because the dvd is almost finished and i've just uploaded the first new set of videos i'd done in ages.
All my time's been focused of the dvd nd the site has been somewhat neglected, but no longer.
Anyhoo, i know very little about fire eating/breathing other than parafin is a nasty toxin that soaks thru the lining of your mouth and causes all sorts of nasty things.
However i do know a little about colored flames, that thread can be found here:
colored flame thread
i have no idea what would be suitable for fire breathing. But the lithium chloride looks increadible. The red color is so deep and very pretty. If you go to a chemical wholesaler website they will tell you the danger level of a certain substance.
Anyhoo. Good to see you around, post in that thred if you find anything interesting about flame colors.
Laters,

Hey Everyone
Welcome to Spherculism, where all your bondaries are pushed, challenged and generally rearranged
I know very little about the fire arts (which I don't actually class poi as being one of- I refer to eating and breathing) and I very much doubt I'll ever get into them, but as long as you know what you're into and the risks that are involved all the best
I have seen some nice fire breathing poi combinations, but only either as a starting fireball or finishing piece, presumably due to the difficulty of getting fuel into the mouth whilst spining. Again, not my bag, but if it works for you
