So I've been around here for a couple of days, seems like I ought to introduce myself.
I'm from northern Virginia over in the United States of America. 18 years old, a few months away from being out of high school. It's been...about 2 years since I first got into poi (I'm really bad about practicing, though). Have yet to try fire, because I have parents (and I like living here). So I mostly use sock poi and glowsticks on strings.
I'm very much a lover of music. Pretty much all kinds, but I mostly listen to electronic stuff.
Yeah, I think that's it.

I try to be pretty eclectic, but I tend to cycle around from genre to genre. Was listening to a lot of ebm & futurepop type stuff for a while. And a little bit of psytrance. Right now I'm mostly listening to trance & progressive.

I don't know many dnb producers either, mostly I've just heard dnb remixes of other stuff. Any recommendations Inertia?

Anyways, felt like mentioning this to everyone but didn't really feel like creating a new thread over it so I'm sticking it here:
Might be around less for the next week or so. Approaching the end of the quarter, which usually means lots of busy. Plus, I'm hosting an exchange student (from Japan). So if I don't manage to be around as often, it's not because I don't love you guys. :42

(i think thats how you spell that place. correct me if I am wrong)...that one has got be my fav piece of music I've ever heard

im a huge fan of DnB and industrial club (interesting mix, you say? well im going to be making music based on that very mix... *grin*). good DnB artists include: DJ Dara, Dieselboy, Bad Company (EIB, not the crappy rock band by the same name), Technical Itch (if you like truly evil stuff), and anyone on the Renegade Hardware label. there are indeed many more... most DnB is pretty decent, but those guys are the heavy hitters. my recommendation is get DJ Dara - Further if you want to evaluate the genre.

i be more a fan of the liquid kinda dnb styles..so a bit diff than sorak's recomenddations ....altho i do agree on teh EIB ting..they r pretty wikkid!..
anyways Raven......one my favouritist (hmm spelling) producers ever is a dude named 'calibre' ( i think i would marry him if he asked me
)..but there are heaps of others along those lines...i also really liking nu:tone at the mo, high contrast is kool, DJ Marky is a wikkid brazilian dude...umm the list goes on!

Finally back! :mrgreen: It's been waaay too long. Ended up busy with finishing up the quarter and visiting a college (Carnegie Mellon) after my exchange student left. Now I'm gonna need several hours to catch up with everything I've been missing.
In case anyone's wondering, the exchange student's a really cool guy. He plays bass guitar, and he's really outgoing for a Japanese hihg-school student. And he really loved poi once I showed it to him. I made him some to take back to Japan with him.
And many thanks to everyone who's been recommending music. I'm definately going to spend time giving this stuff a listen. Seems like I usurped poikid's music thread a little bit...Sorry poikid.
