Butterfly airwraps

I've just started to master these over the weekend and after some intensive practise can get them most times. Was curious to see if anyone else here had and what they thought. I've noticed that the trick seems to be a certain flex of the wrists - my wrists are twisted downwards when I go into the tangle and then I twist them both outwards (so my knuckles now face upwards) straight away to avoid going into a full tangle and pop the poi straight back into a butterfly. Anyone else notice this?

Also, the tangle in butterfly tangle moves seems to me to act like a corkscrew... there's definitely something more to be investigated in moving that above and below the strings.

the timing I have on my butterfly doesn't lend well to these.. .nor do my glowsticks for that matter.. I've noticed heavier poi seem to help a little..

apart from that..itchell is way more knowledgeable then I .. he took it and ran with it..I just decided I had more important things to learn and moved on.. hehe.. maybe he'll come and post some things..

Where is the infamous itchell? It was a right pain in the ass registering him Sphism/gigglesmiley and he never posted???

¦m¦

I have yet to find a butterfly hyperloop vid so I'm clueless as to what the heck you're talking about. Anybody have one??

I have a vid of dantana attempting some.. he doesn't quite get them...

and I have no idea why he doesn't post.. I know he's been out of town for a while with his girl... *shurgs* I can't -make- him post...

anyway.. let mefinish glancing through things.. gotmore midterms to do before I can sit and type full responses to these things

hey guys this is itchel, sorry i haven't been posting. but anyways getting to the bf hyperlood. it sounds like spiralx is doing the orginal one.(exp) that is when you are a reg. bf and you pull your hands apart.left hand in the 10/11 o'clock and the right hand in the 4/5 o'clock position.leave the left hand out away from you(like in reg. butterfly position)pull the right hand closer to your body ,but apart so that the right poi is not hitting your left arm.almost like a backwards J but hand right hand not that fore back.what i mean by backwards J is ,if someone was looking over you ,your arm and showders should be making a backwards J one you get the backwards J thing it's now time to atempt the trick. the trick is to swing the right poi inside of the circle that the left poi is making. if you do this the poi should tangle because the left poi should be going clockwise and the right poi counterclockwise.(NOW HERS A IS A TIP)WHEN YOU DO A REG. BF YOUR HANDS DO A BOUNCE MOTION THIS BOUNCE MOTION IS THE KEY TO GETTING OUT OF THE BF TANGLE.with the reg. bf hyperlood you should pay attention to the left poi and make sure that when you bounce out the tangle the left poi is in between arms/your arms and showders should be in a regular J position. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THE BF HYPERLOOD WITH THE REG. J POSITION. BUT IF YOU LEARN BOTH WAYS I'M SURE YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO BF
HYPERLOOD JUST AS GOOD AS YOU DO A REG. BF

P.S.

SPIRALX IN YOUR POST YOU WROTE ABOUT TRING NOT TO GET YOUR POIS TANGLED IN A KNOT. IF YOU WAS TO GET A FULL KNOT/TANGLE THAT SHOULD PUT YOU IN BUTTERFLY BUZZSAW HYOERLOOD.IF YOU WANT ME TO EXLPAIN THE DIFFERENT WAYS I DOING IT. (BUZZSAW,BEHIND THE BACK,BTB WALLPLANE, BUZZSAW AND TURNING IN A FULL CIRCLE.)REPLY A POST. :jedi

Yeah that's the one, have got it down a bit smoother now Sphism/smilesmiley And I can do the butterfly buzzsaw hyperloop as well, it's just a matter of degree and turning from there.

Need to do it in reverse though which should be fun.

How do you turn the buzzsaw one a full circle? I always come out of it after turning 180 degrees...

it's a matter of learning to control it and slow it down. slowdown your hands/ bounce and speed up your turning. DANTANA DOES IT ON C.O.L.4 :7

your bf buzzsaw hyperlood. does it make a full knot? if so then you are doing it the right way. :jedi

sorry i don't explain things as good as rev. he's who got me started with hyperloods (LISTEN TO HIM,HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT) :7

MAYBE ONEDAY ME AND REV WELL PUT OUT A VIDEO AND SHOW YOU'LL THE DIFFERENT HYPERLOODS. :jedi

Hyperloods Sphism/gigglesmiley

Yeah my hyperloop makes a full knot, looks like a pair of wings flapping lol. I guess I need to bounce more and slow down how fast I move the tangle.

Going to be doing some videos of this sort of stuff in a couple of weeks, will link them here.

ludes.. ludes.. did someone say ludes? oh.. hyper-ludes...

Sphism/winksmiley

j/k... thx for finally coming an imparting some wisdom on folks.. peopel were beginning to think you were a fig newton of my immigration...

does anybody play with the rev.bf hyperlood. if so help me out becuse i don't understand it. i don't care how hard i try it does not have the bounce motion. maybe because it in rev. Sphism/sadsmiley

I'm trying to at the moment. And to get bounces in. It's not easy to get them to connect properly though Sphism/confusedsmiley

the hand motions are weird because the bounce is up not down... you cross at the top instead of the normal cross at the bottom (although in theory you cna do both)

Wasn't a butterfly airwarp or hyperloop (I don't know anymore) called the super maxi plus or something for awhile? Sphism/gigglesmiley

No, the maxi plus is something different lol, same direction not butterfly Sphism/smilesmiley

Buterfly tangles, forwards first....

just gonna clarify what itchy said, cos i didnt quite get it and I can do em!

normally in a butterfly your planes are in and x. to make a butterfly tangle you have to change this, like itchy said you hold the left poi out in front and bring the right poi ina caircle inside it and through. the bit he missed out was that in doing this you are trying to take the planes from being an [x] to parallell [//]. this means when you pust the right one through the left they will tangle.

where next?

well, if you just leave them alone they will untangle again at the bottom, and immeadatly re- tangle unless you move them apart, either forwrads or backwards, or sideways. this is called Stage 1 bf airwrap. but thats booring, what else can we do?

if you tangle the poi as described above and then cross the right arm over the left, you go into a full tangle, the knot that was described in other posts here. this is called Stage 2 bf airwrap (theres a stage 3, but it involves crossing the arms again, and i dont go in for contortionist poi). this is the same as tangling them buzzsaw for a beat then going to the outside.

if however you tangle them and cross the left hand over the right, they pop out instantly! freaky!

playing with thease... you can take the tangle over your head and untangle bth. or you can take it over your head with the right hand crossed over and thay stay knotted bth and come forwrad again to untangle.

you can tangle infront, go to buzzsaw for a beet winding up (stage 2), turn to the other ouside plane where they sit knotted for a beat, other side buzzsaw for a beat to unwind again and untangle in front where you started. (very very hard.)

more teqniges to tangle!

forwrad butterfly, use one poi to come down and over from the front (as opposed to comming in from behind the other as above) it catches up the other poi and pulls it behind you (side plane) If you just leave it, one poi will stall and you go into weave. If you bounce it it works like backwards stage 1 airwrap, if you take it behind and cross the left hand over the right it pops out (watch thoes planes) and if you cross the right hand over the left when it gets behind then you get stage2 backwards bf airwrap.

Backwards Butterfly.

try to catch poi together at the top on the outside, bring inside the arms to untangle. sorry, i dont have much more cos i dont play to much with backwards either.

butterfly tangle theory.

all butterfly tangles should work 4 ways ( Sphism/tonguesmiley rev) you have inside to outside and vice versa and top entryies and bottom entries for both of theses. no matter how you enter they all actaully work the same, if maybe upside down somethimes.

in contradiction to weave tangles, butterfly tangle twist up (and untwist) in buzzsaw, and are perpetual on the outside planes. 8O

T

Ok, now I know what I'm going to be playing with for the next month Sphism/gigglesmiley

Cheers for that post Sphism/smilesmiley
