Defined ~ Mexican Wave

Define ~ Mexican Wave

I'd like to hear some definitions for this term, then we'll refine the definition and finally once poiple are agreed we'll add it to the Poidia.

Comments

A move in which each poi is travelling in the opposite direction with one behind the head and one in front and after each cycle they swap sides.

A butterfly variation where each poi does standardly one circle behind the head and one infront, switching back and forth with each beat. -------

I learned this after learning what HoP called an alternate butterfly..basically a mexican wave but instead you swing one behind you then bring both hands back to a butterfly position and then swing the other one..... is that a mexican wave variation of a butterfly variation, I ask so that we'll know which one to put it in

I've always assumed they were the same thing to be honest.

I think the differnce between the two is that a mexican wave does one or more beat in front then behind. An alernate butterfly has no pattern

Ah

The mexican weave is when you do the butterfly then alternate the poi back and forth behind your head.

I thought the mexican wave was done near the shoulder or something which makes your hands appear to wave back and forth... and the timing is a little different.. or at least feels that way..

Very confusing. I don't really like the term. I don't really have a term for it, other then spinning behind the head in the wall plane.

The Mexican wave is basically the butterfly equivalent to the windmill (split time)/chasing the sun (same time) if that helps.

Mexican Wave

A butterfly variation where each poi spins one circle behind the head and one in front, switching back and forth with each beat so a different poi is in each plane each beat.

Equivalent to a butterfly high reel.

I think that works, but the wording confused me for a bit.

Maybe this?
A butterfly variation where one poi spins one circle in front of the head while the other spins one circle behind, and they switch sides each beat.

Equivalent to a butterfly high reel.

I'd actually say Spiralx merely because it doesnt allow for confusion at all of the timing of each swing. They say the same thing so Ravens is great I just think the other one is a bit more informative
