Fire help - legal matters
I know this isn't exactly spinning advice, but I was wondering if anyone could help me with an insurance question.
A friend of mine is organising a bonfire night this friday through the student's union (I'm at uni in the UK) and he wants me and a mate to do some fire poi for him. Only problem is my uni is a bit anal about safety and security, so I wanted to know if anyone has any idea whether i need insurance/what type I need?
Any help would be muchly appreciated
Cheers. T

Hmm, i dunno a lot about insurance matters i'm afraid, but i'm sure someone around here can help you out.
I guess just get some numbers off google and call around and ask people.
It would definitely suck if something bad happend.
Sorry i can't be more help, keep us informed if you learn anything interesting,
good luck

Well, some guy I know told me (in a pretty 'I know everything' way, so I believe it) that without insurance then you - not the place you're spinning at, are personally responsible for anything that goes wrong. We we're pretty sure it was going to be safe, so we did it without insurance, but it kind of took the fun out of the spin.
Good party afterwards tho.
