Defined ~ 1.5's

(I pronounce them "One-point-fives"...)

More a variation on any move than a family of moves in it's own right.

A move where each hand spins a full beat and then a half beat (pendulum) without a shift in direction of the full beat.

The hands usually are split so whilst one poi spins a circle, the other swings a pendulum - with placement of the penduluming hand, the poi heads come together at the same time.

Because the pendulum doesn't change the direction of the poi, most wall/wheel plane moves can be spun as 1.5's - weaves (fwd, bwd, waist-wrapped, btb), TTN's, flowers etc.

Hey Durbs, good to see ya.

i've been playing with these a lot recently, pinapple pete reminded me of pendulums the other day.

I find that if i lock my hand still iget a normal pendulum but it loses control.

If however i move my hand in a gentle circle, the poi head also makes a circle, but my hand is always above the head, like a regular pendulum.

The second way i get far more control and i really like it cos the head still traces a circle (kinda) but it's also a pendulum.

Mainly been playing with these in tangle patterns Sphism/smilesmiley

Yep yep, you do pretty much make a semi-circle with your hand to trace the "spinning" poi.
For repeated patterns the hands often end up in a fig-8 pattern (sometimes crossing the body)

Maybe "Dragged pendulum" would sound better?
