Hello all, hows tricks?
I havnt been on spherculism for aaaaages on account of me not having much opportunity to do poi and not making any effort to attain that opportunity. I am flabbergasted by the new site. i mean wow :o
It all looks great, love the gallery and the phorum but the poidia needs a bit of work. the new profile thing is awesome. already spotted a glitch tho, i tried to change my appearance name to bubbles, it accepted and then the phorum gave me this crazy duplicate entry glitch.
Matt iv just started a new job and as soon as i get my first paycheck im gonna buy the dvd, really really looking forward to it. Im working in IT Operations *yawn* but it pays ridiculously well so no complaining.

also if theres any spinners around bond street in london then pm today!

that glitch is known about, i think the phorum lets you change names but the main system doesn't, or vise versa.
Glad you dig the new site, has been a whole lot of work since the dvd came out.
Everyone has pretty much unlimited space on our server (until it fills up, then we'll get a bigger one) but i think it increases in size far uicker than we could ever hope to fill it, so it's effectively unlimited.
Anyhoo, stick some pics n videos up.
The poidia is looking pretty weak really. The main aim of it was so that we all understood what each other was taling about, but it needs to be maintained and kept up to date. Not entirely sure where to go with it.
The dojo is gonna rock tho, it's where all the new tutorials will be, i've got the basic display and update of it working, with a fairly good outline structure for teaching poi. I've just made a load of vids today following the same structure. The main difference between new and old vids is that the new ones cover the basics much better. Altho lighting and background sucks ass.
But it's all good.

so how you gonna do the dojo? iv got images of moves being broken down and then demonstrated and then put back together. or videos of moves that get just slightly more difficult. am i close? will poibot be used?
i wouldn't worry about the poidia, im sure it will take form in time. you can always link in the forum and vids in the time being. then where theres a vid and info for each significant page mabey you could consolidate the info. or hell just have it updated wiki style.
so matt where are you now? if i remember correctly you were going off to somewhere pacific rim area right? new zeland mabey? or did i go crazy from lack of sphercohol?

I'm sure with the amount and quality of information you have as well as an abundance of poiple to help there will be no shortage of tutorials.
i remember a while ago the idea of a "learning tree." An expandable directory of tricks that could be sorted via difficulty or through trick similarity and then difficulty). to the point that tricks would be taught progressively and could vary upon the desired direction of the learner. i remember thinking i would love something like that.
