Video Gallery Discussion

Greetings all,

I'm back in nz and have broadband for a short time so i'm eager to catch up on all the video posts that go on in these parts.

Now, as you probably know, there's an [all singing all dancing] new Gallery on the site.

My plan is to grab all the videos mentioned in this forum and do 1 of 4 things with them:

1) Suck them from your server direct to the gallery
2) Download them and upload them to the gallery
3) Compress them before uploading if they are really huge
4) Place an External Link to them from the gallery

So ultimately you'll be able to go to the video gallery and see thumbnails of each video, and then watch each one inside the gallery.

Does anyone have any objections to this?

Does anyone think this is a worth while thing to do?

I think it's good because videos over the years have come and gone. I had to delete all my downloaded videos to make space for the dvd and now i don't know where to get them all again.

So i figure if i duplicate them all to the server then they should be available for ever, and they'll all be in one convenient place.

Also once the videos are on our server we should be able to embbed them into the phorum posts, which would rock.

Any thoughts?

Anyone want to help make the Video Phorum Album in the gallery.
