Defined ~ Split Time

Define ~ Split Time

I'd like to hear some definitions for this term, then we'll refine the definition and finally once poiple are agreed we'll add it to the Poidia.

Comments

When one poi completes a cycle half a beat behind the other. For instance in a weave the two poi would be 180 degrees apart.

When the poi are 180 degrees out of sync. If you are swinging two poi by your sides in split time, one will be at the top of its circle when the other is at the bottom of its circle.

Where your poi is not in time. One poi at the top and one poi at the bottom. 180 degrees apart.

I also look at it like spinning a staff.. because when you spin thepoi to look like a staff, they can't help but remain 180 apart..

Only on Spherculism could we have a discussion about this. Someone needs to say something weird just to get a debate on the go about this. Sphism/gigglesmiley
This is such a great community.

Split-time

When the poi are rotating 180 degrees out of sync. If you are swinging two poi by your sides in the same direction in split time, one will be at the top of its circle when the other is at the bottom of its circle.

Good example except that it leaves room for debates about split time butterflys. I'd say just leave it as, quoting spiralx's definition,

Split time:

When the poi are rotating 180 degrees out of sync

Reason because theres so many funky things about split time butterflys and stuff , but maybe I'm just a confused poigirl that complicates matters too much for self Sphism/gigglesmiley

Interesting...that definition looks really familiar... Sphism/winksmiley

As for the example bit, I think we ought to have something just to illustrate "180 degrees out of sync." I don't think everyone's going to look at it and go "Oh! 180 degrees out of sync! It makes perfect sense to me!"

So...are we going with this, then?

Hm ok so apparently the split time butterfly thing doesnt effect others Sphism/gigglesmiley

You could insert the words "in the same direction" into it before "in split time" if you like Sphism/smilesmiley

Woo spiralx

No need though if I'm the only one that noticed it Sphism/gigglesmiley

As with in time, there haven't been any objections Sphism/smilesmiley

no objections? so we going to defined this one now too Sphism/winksmiley woot
