What Im Working On
Hey all,
I filmed the first part of this to look at stuff im working on from another angle and show Giz. I put it together and the following is what came out.
The start is kind of like one of the tracks on the Spherc DVD. I wanted to see if I was getting the same effect and if I had understood the trinity thing correctly. I've been looking at lots of triangle stuff recently, things like anitspin infinite hyp flowers seem to lend themselves far easier to three beat stuff than four. Kinda like they were intended to be triangles if that makes any sense.
The timing of some stuff is still a bit sketchy but like the title says its "what i'm working on".
Any advice would be appreciated,

The trinity stuff is particularly nice- I always thought of trinity as being three planes in which the spinner would stand in the centre, but I guesss that applies in the fashion you're gone as well.

Nice to see a bit of inspiration soming out of the dvd. Track 9 on the dvd is meant to be all box planes. I never really got into trinity so much, i find making 90 degree angles more rewarding for some reason.
Wicked inversions. I love the way you can twist the planes of all that stuff so readily.
With those i like to play with a kind of inside box plane, so you're normal outside box plane would be a square around you, the inside version is a 'cross' + with you in the middle. Lots of fun.
Great tangles, i love that bounce wrap exit you do, then into bf tangle, well i guess that's a twist really, can you do the inverted version of that tangle? ie the tangled version of the inverted butterfly. It's really nice to bounce a bf tangle between outside (like you're doing), inside (like i think i saw too) but then also mix in the inverted one too.

It's funny tho, i'd kinda forgotten about all the bf versions of those. But now i'm clearer about the terminology for the IN's (inversions, insides, inswings) so i think i'll make a load.

I should use top and bottom sides of box planes, but hardly ever do.
So i'll make a vid soon of the butterfly tangle stuff,
But yeah, eg:
outwards bf
right hand under left arm
right poi around left arm and inbetween arms
(pull left hand out of loop to get the tangle instead of inversion)
left poi does 1 outside beat
then left poi comes inbetween arms
at same time right poi goes outside again
i think
essentially, right poi inverted, then left poi inverted to exit
Give the whole 'system' a good bounce to keep the beats going.

Generally I'm not a trinity fan, mainly as I think on the whole people can't spot what you're doing and it looks like sloppy plains, but the inversion stuff was looking sweet
