Define ~ Reel

I'd like to hear some definitions for this term, then we'll refine the definition and finally once poiple are agreed we'll add it to the Poidia.

A reel is a move in which each poi does a figure of eight between the front and back wall planes on the same side of your body as your arms. There are many variations - low/hip reels done with your hands by your hips and high reels where your hands are by your shoulders... also known as windmills (split-time) or chasing the sun (in-time).

Never heard of these

erm, 'chasing the sun' is most common. circle in front of shoulders then point hands upward to make circle behind shoulders. easy peasy. same for low reels just obviously do it low not high. Sphism/gigglesmiley

reels are like the opposite of a crosser.. reels are when the poi stay on the side of the body that they are on..

Ok

Thats all fine and dandy but I have a Q.

Is it a reel when , as I do often, I have one hand resting on shoulder or head , and the other hand resting at the hip doing the same movements as a chasing the sun or a hipmill, but with one hand in dif positions? If it is, I think you should leave out examples because it can be done in so many differant positions, but try and get the simplest term for it. Using mostly spiralx's definition

Mm??

-Poikid-

It's spelled tweaks Sphism/winksmiley

Anyway yeah I agree, should probably leave examples out of it.

Alright mr. english teacher you  Lol I went and corrected it so we're good now Sphism/gigglesmiley

Sorry, I am overly anal about that sort of thing Sphism/winksmileySphism/gigglesmiley

What about the Michal Kahn Reel ?!?

Reel: Same Direction ; Same Time ; Same Side of the Body

Quite straight forward IMO

you can have split time and alternating reels. So the only buit remaining from Michal's description is "same direction" which doesn't quite cut it.

i agree with Poikid's description Sphism/smilesmiley

Any arguments with poikid's definition?
