Defined ~ Tapback

Define ~ Tapback

I'd like to hear some definitions for this term, then we'll refine the definition and finally once poiple are agreed we'll add it to the Poidia.

I always though that they were when you hit the head of the poi (hence the name "tap" back) and then caught it and continued spinnig, but you and Bluecat seem to use it for catching the tail or handle of the poi then throwing it back.

After you have released a poi it can be caught, or it can be 'tapped back' from where it came. To do this you must catch* and throw the poi within about 1/4 of a circle. This second throw must be spinning in the opposite directin to the first.

*This 'catch' need not be in your hand, if you find the 'sweet-spot' in between the handle and the 'center of the body of the poi' it will recoil off any part of your body without the need for an actual 'catch'.

Unfortunately I have yet to understand tapbacks or even what they mean so I cannot aid this one...

tap backs are like bounce wraps.. they hit near the poi head and go back the other way... I use the term tap back with thrown poi, but bounce wraps for wraps.. but they are the same thing essentially...

*bump*

Reverse the direction of the spinning poi in mid air by tapping it for a brief moment.

You can tap the head or the tail end.

tail taps are sooOOooo much better than head taps IMO

Surely the head end is the same as the tail end? Sphism/confusedsmiley

Do you mean handle end? Sphism/smilesmiley

Hehe. Tapbacks are a blast, some of my favorite things to do with me luvly socks.

Proposal

Reversing the direction of the poi in mid air, ie during a toss or release, by tapping the head end or handle end for a brief moment

I hear ya spiralx.

But the handle is only the handle if it is being held.

Once released the handle end flaps in the breeze like a tail.

But that's only if i'm being perdantic.

I dig the term above.
