UK festivals OTHER than Glasto.

I thought i'd create a thread to discuss going to other festivals apart from Glastonbury.
I've been to Reading/Leeds (leeds last couple of years) since 1998 , and in the last couple of years only for 1 of the days rather than the whole weekend. At a festival like that i'd tend to think there'd be less spinners, but i remember on sunday night in 2003 walking through the campsite (at the Leeds site) and seeing a handful of spinners dotted around the campsite. But I was quite far away from them, and it looked from that distance that they weren't doing anything complicated at all.

Is anyone planning on going to any other festivals this year?

I'm not going to glasto coz i'd be bored 99% of the time as i dont like almost all the bands that play there. I won't know whether I'm going to Leeds again this year for the weekend or one day until much nearer the time.

Bands play at Glasto?? Like music bands?? I'll have to find time to start fitting them in this year! Sphism/winksmiley

i'll probably be at Reading or Leeds this year. Been to Reading for the past 9 years but it's starting to turn a bit shite, whereas I hear the new Leeds site is fantastically laid out with one main campsite running in an arc around the arena....decision decisions...Leeds or Reading....Leeds or Reading....

Apart from that...meh....doubtful.

Having been to Reading a few times, Leeds @ Temple Newsam once, and Leeds @ Bramham park once, i can honestly say that the new site @ Bramham park is the best imho.

The surroundings are great - trees and (gentle)hills. You can see right accross a large portion of the campsite, which does arc round the arena. At night i thought it had a really really good atmosphere. They used private security and the police weren't actually on site walking around, but it didn't matter and as far as i know there wasn't really any trouble.

I'd definitely recommend the Leeds site to anyone. Plus its really close to where i live Sphism/gigglesmiley

I think a gathering of poiple there this year would be cool.

If you looking for alternative festies, away from the comercialismnism check this http://www.campscene-directory.co.uk/

the Big Green is cancelled due to water logged fields

but there's plenty more Sphism/smilesmiley
