Poi in Sweden

Hey. I'm totally new here, so I figgure I should introduce myself. I've been doing poi for about 1,5 years and I don't know how to make up new tricks anymore. I know all the ones I've heard of...
Anyway, I'm looking for poeple in sweden that do poi. Looking for fire nights and stuff like that.
Is there a way that I can search for people, based on where they are from or something like that?

Hey there Nissen/Guest hehe Sphism/gigglesmiley I dont know whats wrong, but a couple of members seem to be having that problem lately...sorry man Sphism/sadsmiley Welcome to spherculism, you're gonna love it here. So what got you into poi? And erm is that 1 and a half years (1,5) , 15 years, or 1 to five years? I'm conpuzzled... but way cool either way Sphism/smilesmiley Hmm done all you've heard of eh? Including the slapping wet fishes? Wow you're way ahead of me then. My 1-year-poi-anniversary is in 1 and a half months so I'm giving myself a lil slack Sphism/winksmiley Well, super glad to see ya man, so cool to see spinners from across the globe getting in here. Happy second day of spring (missed yesterday  ), hope you'll be around alot Sphism/gigglesmiley :34

-Poikid-

Hello Nissen  how's it goin in sunny sweden?

Poikid I think in Euroland they use , instead of .

Really? Right on I never even heard of that Sphism/gigglesmiley

to be honest I think it's only the US UK & Aus who use the . as a point in numbers.

All the other numbers I come across from outside these places use the , sign.

I find it confusing, especially when i 've been using the figures I get from customers in one country after I've been used to figures from another country. But thems the breaks I guess....(they're all weird if you ask me! Sphism/winksmiley )

Hehe, yeah... that's 1.5 years then.. Sphism/smilesmiley one and a half.
There is one trick that I've seen that I can't do... and that's butterfly in one hand, putting it between your toes and then make a sideflip w/ hands (whatever that's called in english wheel maybe?) and take it back to your hands before you land again.
Now that's way out of my league.
Sphism/winksmiley

Well, I'm not really that great at all, it's just that I don't know alot of tricks. I saw lots of tricks in New Zeeland while I was there, but I have forgotten all the tricks, so it's hard to practice.

Btw, what is hyperloops? Never heard the words Sphism/smilesmiley

Well I still cannot figure out the dif between an airwrap and hyperloop, but what they are is when your in any given move/pattern and you let the strings tangle together and spin off of each other instead of your hands. Quite nifty lil things. Someone correct me if thats a bad definition!

-Poikid- Sphism/smilesmiley

woohaa, that sounds cool Sphism/smilesmiley so basicly you form a cross from your hands to the end of the pois and they are twisted around eachother where they meet?
or did I just missunderstand? Sphism/smilesmiley

Check out the tutorials Nissen, you'll see them in there and visual is much easier to understand that words ever will be!! Sphism/gigglesmiley

cool... I'll try that out Sphism/smilesmiley

Honestly, those vids rock. It's pretty hard to see what's going on from time to time due to the cuality, but there is enough material to make me buissy for... I'd say a year. Is there any vids of poi combined with acrobatics? And also, is it possible to do all this with chains, such as with fire poi?

Cya!! gotta go try the 5bt wave behind the back!!

howdyz nissen :57

...how long ago were u in lufly nz...and wherebouts did u go?

i haven't been to sweden...altho i hear it too is a lufly place...a friend of mine i met at university was from sweden and has since moved back there , altho she tells me she can't wait to come back to our prurty end of the world :28

I was there for 7 months and I got home one year ago. Stayed mainly in Auckland but traveled around the whole place for 2 months as well.
It's a GOOD place.. where about do you live? (that girl friend of yours, is she doing poi as well?)

7 months....wow kool!..did you get down to the sourth island at all?

well i live in dunedin (i moved down here about 5 years for university)...although i'm from Wellington originally...i love wellington..its a wikkid place Sphism/gigglesmiley

No sorry..my swedish friend doesn't spin, well not unless she took it up once she got back to sweden

Yeah, but only for a month Sphism/sadsmiley wich is BAD... The south island is so cool. I love queenstown. I love it!!!
I stayed for only one night in wellington and I missed out on dunedin and christchurch. But the big cities wasn't my main priority.

Do you have fire nights down in dunedin as well? That was the only good thing about Auckland. Unfriendly people and people that muggs you are domminating that place.

But I liked the fire nights alot! Every tuesday we all met in a park and some dude allways brought 50 liters of fire liquid, usually we had some people playing drums and didgery, and a bit of an audiance as well.
Not to forget the incense and ganja.
I started out only juggeling torches, and it wasn't till I got back to sweden that I started fire poi, but at that stage I allredy knew a few tricks.

Those parties sound sweet! I'm so jealous!!

Now I want to go to NZ, wait I already did want to go. Sphism/smilesmiley

course u do....thats cause nz relly is jus such a lufly place.....not that i'm biased on anythin Sphism/winksmiley

It sounds like a really nice place to live. It's probably going to be awhile before I get to see it though.
