Any Australians?
Welcome to the site! I'm not from Australia, but we can still be friends, right?
Maybe we'll get you a bit more into the poi. Granted, firestaff is pretty good too...
So, if I may, how'd you get started with all this stuff? And do you just do the firestuffs or do you play with less flammable toys too?
Hope you enjoy the site.
Any Australians?
Hey man
How goes it? Hehe well , second to Raven, maybe we'll get ya more into poi
Firestaff is way cool tho, I've seen it a couple times and I love watching it...though I've not yet tried it hehe. Oh btw, I am also not from australia, complete other side of the globe here, but hey, spherculism is its own lil country
So how long you been into the arts man? Cya laters Skott, hope to see ya around alot here

Any Australians?
Hello!!!
I started with sticks, avid that I was always going to be pants at poi, but one day the penny dropped and my staves tend to be somewhat overlooked nowadays. And it's really hard to spin sticks inside without breaking stuff!!
Any Australians?
Hiya!
I'm not from Australia either, or even into fire, yet.
Sticks are fun, enjoy the site.
Any Australians?
lol, thanks, theres not many Australian Fire performing sites
, in reply to raven, i play with heaps of toys like the poi, staff, juggling, even do a bit of coin manipulation, yeah i'll have a go at anything i can get my hands on pretty much.
Skott
Any Australians?
Wow skott, sounds like you're a proper spherculist.
I know this is pretty much a poi site at the moment, we're still 15 weeks young, eventually there will be many more diciplines around here.
Anything with that kinda sphercular movement, like coin manipulation or kung fu
Take it easy,
¦m¦
Any Australians?
Hi Skott! how you doin?
You're a busy guy with all that stuff, what sort of coin manipulation do you do? All I know of is rolling it betwen your fingers but I guess there's loads more yeah?!
Oh by the way I'm one of the many non-aussies here but I got family in Ararat near Victoria. I wanna go see em sometime but it's money you know, not a lot of it flows my way to make spare cash for forein holidays!
L8rs Dude!
Any Australians?
Hello there
Any Australians?
I sound like a proper spherculist? i'll take that as a complement, lol. Um, mostly rolling around fingers and that, i've just started doing it a little while ago but I haven't done to much on it, been practising with poi, wicked cool fun, feels awesome after you've just pulled off this mega trippy move and you get a rush from it, feels great. Don't know a great deal about poi, trying to do the 5 bt weave at the moment but yeah, i'll give some input were i can!
Skott
Any Australians?
Oh yes, a compliment indeed Scott
Keep it up man, I can't figure out to save my life the 5bt w reverse, but can occasionally pull off a 6bt forwards....which doesnt make sense... most reverse stuff came to me easier than forwards...hm.. who knows.
Oooh I know that feeling , its fantastic
Concerning the 5bt, try watching http://www.spherculism.com/tutorials/weave/5btW_fwd_MV.html that vid of matt, and remember timing. Something that prevented me from pulling it off for quite some time, and I noticed that all the people I've taught it have had the same problem. And that is, after I would cross over to either side I wouldn't pull it back to the other side fast enough, as in I would do the twist and then just leave them there for an extra beat without realizing it so when I tried to cross over, well obviously it got tangled up. So try watching your hands and just as soon as you've got them in the correct twisted position, immediately pull 'em over. Good luck
