About time I said hello

I'm Andrew, aka Baphomet. Been around a while, but I'm well lazy and am not a fan of icebreakers, hence the delay Sphism/smilesmiley

I'm from Southampton, but am at uni just outside of Stoke and spend pretty much all my time there. I study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (a combination, not all three, i'm lazy remember). Been spinning poi just over a year, started staff at Xmas, (tho it's just about warm enough to really start practicing), and just got a meteor. My development at all three continues to surprise me, although i'm not at the masterful level of some others (guess who Sphism/winksmiley )

Born April 6th, 1983, which makes me a (newly) 21 year old Aries.

Book: 1984 (a must read for anyone who hasn't read it)
Film(s): Spirited Away, Memento, Alien (the list goes on...)
Music: Squarepusher
Artist: Giger, Dali
Likes: Tattoos and the king of afternoon tv, Neighbours!
Dislikes: Garage (UK bling music, just plain poo), Drunkeness

I was just going to put the Squarepusher album I borrowed on! Sphism/gigglesmiley

And he's playing at the Glade festival as well, woohoo!

I bought 'Feed Me Weird Things' a couple of weeks ago and it found its way onto to my spinning playlist last night- much fun Sphism/smilesmiley Do you like any Aphex Twin?

Chut

I like Aphex Twin, but never remember to getting round to actually getting any of his music Sphism/winksmiley

I'm more keen on the melodic ambient stuff, though there are some great standouts like Windowlicker which I also love. He can get a bit anarchic to the point of being plain noisy can Mr D. James...

Chut

Ah but that's his genius... taking noises that individually sound like a dentist's drill and then making them into something lush and floaty Sphism/smilesmiley

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of Aphex stuff, but at times even my well worn ears can find bits a little too challenging- even the FSOL aren't that nuts Sphism/smilesmiley

Hey baphomet! Haha, finally an intro Sphism/tonguesmiley
How goes it man?? EEhh Uk Bling, bet that's annoying. Well I dont have much to say today, I am a girl of few words...well...until I get some energy that is  red bull.....oohh... aaaaanyways I'll catch ya later , take it easy Sphism/smilesmiley

-Poikid-

If u like ambient try autechre....

I used to find crazy noise very hard to listen to. Then i realised its like art, it provokes a reaction, which is not always a good one. Eventually i began to appreciate how uncomfortable noise can make you feel. It's not good, but I still react to it, which is more than i can can say for mediocre chart music. Finding something difficult is sooo much better than simply being indifferent

Oh I agree entirely- I'd say that most of the time I'm happy with that- I'm a fan of Future Sound of London, Orbital and much Aphex- perhaps I'm just a little unadventurous!

Thanks for the Autechre referal- I've heard of them but never got so far as to actually encounter their stuff- I'll look them up Sphism/smilesmiley

Chut

Hiya. I like Dali too. :o

I have some Autechre, Aphex Twin, and FSOL. Like the stuff but don't have a lot of it.

Haven't heard much Squarepusher though...

If you like all you've listed there you'll certainly enjoy much or Squarepushers stuff... I'm only just getting aquainted with it and its good stuff Sphism/smilesmiley
