The Great Out-of-doors
Now that tis finally warm over in my part of the states I can finally go out and enjoy the outdoors. I've already been hiking a bunch fo times this year and it's so refreshing to be able to go out in the woods again. I love being able to just drive for ten minutes, find a trail head, and hike back to a couple lakes and have a small fire with some friends. I live in the foothills of the Adirondack mountains which is full of great places to go hiking. I think its one of the most relaxing things someone can do but thats just me. Any other poippl like to hike?

The Great Out-of-doors
I have the chance to live not far from town, and also near to mountains and open country.
I usually go hiking every day in the forest. It's my daily return to the roots (does it mean something in english ? ). We all need that: listening to the wind in the trees, hearing the song of the birds, breathing true oxygen.
Hiking is a healthy sport, even if we don't sweat, because it helps to breathe, it helps the lymph to circulate, and it helps your brain to evacuate stress.
After that, let's go poying !

I agree it is one of the most relaxing things to do ... in fact I want to get a vacation cabin in the mountains so I can go with my dog on weekends ... I live in the city now, but even just walking hte city streets as Spring (slowly) arrives is nice too.

Ooh you make me miss my home already. Just another week and a half and I'm heading back. I love hiking , nearly as much as poi. Sadly my parents dont let me go alone which is quite annoying because our house is like, a 3 minute walk away from real thick thick forest and hills and beyond that the big beautiful mountains....mmmmmm.... and a lovely river hidden way back which I am determined to get to err, every time we start going whoever finally consented to come with me wants to turn back....the annoyance. Ah well. But yes, hiking is also a passion for me. I dont really know about the camping part...not really into that....atleast not in the sense that seems big...like, going to those camping grounds with the big stone bathrooms , fire pits and picnic tables.. that is so friggin boring. Nope. For myself, I like just heading out into what's left of the wilderness in the usa , me back pack and some of my sisters, finding a nice tree to sleep under or in...mmm...that is most fun.

Ahh, cant wait to get home!!

Stop it, you guys are making me jealous

Then again please continue, I'll just dream along
I just love the mountains and thick forest wilderness to walk around and enjoy nature.
To bad I'm living in a perfect flat country (holland) and there is nothing left of real wilderness. At least not within half an hour drive by car (which I don't have yet....)
So I guess I'll have to enjoy the nice weather while walking thru the cities and parks, luckily the coast with it's wonderfull dunes is close by, But I seldom have the time to go there.....

The Great Out-of-doors
My hometown is a large city, but for most of my childhood, I lived on the edge of Salisbury Plain in the UK. There was nothing better than standing on the top of a huge hill, breathing in the fresh air and being able to see for miles.
The Great Out-of-doors
16 days later it is warm enough to spin outdoors. I'm not sure I'm ever going to be able to spin indoors again.
