Thanks for the new Forums Matt.
Yay, somewhere else to talk about poi! - thanks Matt.
Seems like a good place to discuss the aspects of poi that don't involve (as well as do involve) spinning, such as:
Please Note: This is a list of suggestions only and is in no way intended to suggest that the topics in this forum should be limited to the following.
1) Construction of different types of poi (materials, length, handles, whatever).
2) Advantages that some designs (fire, sock, ribbon, glowsticks, et al) have over others and their inherent limitations.
3) Dancing/Performance (why have I put those together? hmm).
4) Anything else poi related that you can possibly think of.
Hopefully the videos should be able to help poiple to find the most relevant forum for their difficulty(ies).

Thanks for the new Forums Matt.
Nice one Dub,
I wanna really encourage poiple to make their own poi, adjust the lengths and weights, play with lights, glow sticks, fire, coloured flames, flags, socks, tails, blah blah,
to cut it short, You don't ever need to buy a set of poi again. Yoiu know your style and you have to make poi to fit it. Different designs make me spin totally differently, so let's stick 2 fingers up at comercialism  and get back to some old skool crafty spherculism
Thanks for the new Forums Matt.
Matt,
 commercialism  too right! Tis a shame that the world is geared towards it and that it is so ruddy hard to avoid it. Right I'll stop before i go off on one.
Different poi types do tend to lend themselves towards different spinning styles, however it can be great fun trying out glowstick styple recoil combos with fire
At some point over the next few weeks I'm going to try and put some 'Build Your Own Poi' threads together. I think I still have my 'Windsock Poi' templates, somewhere
I'm also planning on 'Pseudo-Sock Poi' and 'Ribbon/Tail Poi' varieties. They're all pretty simple but it's more fun than work
Thanks for the new Forums Matt.
RooTS! I've built every set of poi that I've ever used, with the exception of a set of practice poi that were made by a friend. And I guess that iS something i take alot of pride in, However alot of people do not have access to workshops where they can find tools or may not know where to find the best deal on ball chain, kevlar, glowsticks...whatever. Maybe we can begin a forum where members can leave and access info on where the best deals on kevlar are to be found or where to find the best ball swivels that are suitable for heavier poi.
This is the true home of poi. Thanks to Matt and Dubb.
Thanks for the new Forums Matt.
pheonix, thank you very much. I think that's a great idea. It's so hard to get poiple to share their secrets like that but that is totally what spherculism is all about. Nice one.
