Define ~ Orbits
Just saw these on COL 2!
one hand maintains a circle whilst the other continually releases and catches around it.

Oh , I didnt know those had a name. I do that quite often... I always considered them just abunch of releases.

Hmm. I guess they are just releases.
I find it really hard to keep the flow though. The one I release slows down to much or flys off somewhere else,

Garthy
Hey no worries man, just focus more, try even keeping the releasing arm close to your side, which will force less movement of the hand thus making the toss slightly hindered which should keep them alot closer for a starter. Also try slowing down, and remember timing. Feel the flow of the strings , and after a time they will tell you when to release
Never rush it. You'll have it down in no time garthy
I just downloaded the technical poi video off of that link you posted, but my comp is a bit fecked right now. Will post later to talk about it, once it plays
Keep on spinning

Only thing i know of called orbits are when both poi are following each other and you spin your whole body with them. eg do a 3 beat weave, to get the extra beats for the 5 beat spin your whole body round 360 always leaning toward your poi and keeping your hands on either side of your neck. That's a 5 beat weave with no arm twisting at all!

Sounds fun rt there
Sooo should we just scratch out orbits or should we define it as Matt's thing?

That's quite an oldskool london expression. I never do them and i never use that term but i don't agree with the term being used for continuous releases.

But not for releases I agree.
