Playa Del Fuego. It's the mid-Atlantic Regional Burn. A kind of mini Burning Man in Delaware Memorial Day weekend. Except not in a desert - more of a woodsy area. I've honestly not been before ... but I have been to Burning Man, so if this is just a small version, and I get to spin fire for three nights straight with OTHER people who also do this - I can't imagine anything better. I'm going - anyone else wanna go? Oh - and it's only , as opposed to the 5 to attend Burning Man in Nevada.

You now i wanna go its just a matter of transportation. Maybe i could just hitchike. It's worked a couple times before. I guess if anyone in New York wants to ride down with someone I'll go i am ordering a ticket today.

I'm so sorry. Let me see if I can work my friends over to squeeze you in .... also - I'll keep my eyes open on the NYCBM list to see if anyone offers a ride.

Also - you could post on the PDF website that you are looking for a ride, and see what comes up??

alright i will try that. Oh and don't worry about trying to sqeeze me in thats okay. If i can't go to this one there will be others and since i just made a new reinforced set of fire poi i can start practicing fire again. Hopefully if it stops raining I can try them out tonight.

I ended up trying my new fire poi out and it was great. I lit up twice and spun for 10min the first time and 5min the second. I'm addicted. It was so much fun.

Awesome Rovo! I haven't spun fire in almost two weeks ... but my socks are definitely getting a workout. And if you still can't find a ride later in the month ... PM me, maybe we can figure something out ....

Raven - bummer! It's only like two hours from DC, right? Maybe just come for one night and spin with us???

My problem isn't so much the distance. It's that I'm still in high school (graduating this year!) and I have parents. My mother (don't really know 'bout my dad) is dead set against me spinning fire, because she thinks it's too dangerous. Which is why I won't be doing it until some time after I'm out of the house. And that aside the 'rents aren't much for me travelling to these sort of events. Sphism/sadsmiley

I plan to start attending stuff eventually though. Maybe by next year, if things work out. We'll just have to see how life goes. Sphism/gigglesmiley

I can't make PDF so i am gonna go to a festival the weekend before in echo lake new york. It's gonna be a blast. Plus if you bring a drum you get 5 dollars off and can be in the largest drum circle ever and get in the Guiness Book of World Records. You need over 2,000 people drumming for it to happen. Raven be paitent eventually you'll get to get out and have soem fun.

WOW!! What a weekend.

First of all - all the people at PDF were kind and loving and full of enthusiasm and well-wishing. But I guess I knew that, since they're all Burners.

I had a great time. met a bunch of great new people and had three solid nights of the best fire spinning I've ever done.

I used my brand new fire poi - HUGE wicks (3" eyebolts with 2" wide cathedrals) that I made last week. And it's a good thing I did, because I completely busted up my little ones.

AND - greatest news of all - I met the sexiest fire spinner alive, and I think I've convinced him to move to New York and teach me everything he knows.

I don't remember the last time I was this happy.
