Basic Turns help

Any tips on Buzzsaw turns or Butterfly turns? I seem to have to leave the move and wrap one poi in order to get myself turned.

With buzzsaw turns you lead with the poi on the opposite side to which you're turning. So going from fwd->rev turning clockwise lead with your left hand. That's for a low turn anyway, not sure if it's different for high turns or rev->fwd yet.

Butterfly turns are easy, you don't have to do anything other than keep your hands still while you're turning... they fall into the correct move automatically I found.

Watch Nick Woolsey's video for how to do these turns... forwards to backwards is easiest down low, while backwards to forwards is up high.

Howdoo Chut!

As for me, I'm not too keen on buzzsaw turns, but as for butterfly's I found that when the poi reach the peak of their rotation , turn the body keeping the hands fairly still, and just immediately act like you had recently gone into a reverse/forward butterfly, dont think of how to do it but rather what you would do if you did it if that makes sense Sphism/smilesmiley For me when spinning, I always visualize what I -would- do if I knew how to do something, then when I try it it usually falls into place. Good luck!

Isolated buzzsaw turns are much nicer than standard ones Sphism/gigglesmiley
