Double Throws

No - we are not Juggling !

What you can do with double throws:

Definition: Throwing both Poi so that they are both at the same time in the air

Decide when to throw - one after another or at the same time / different or same direction
Decide at wich speed to trow - both same or one faster than te other
Decide how high to throw / both same # of rotation or different
Decide how to catch - either both go on in same direction or in different direction
Decide when to catch - both at the same time or one after enother

. . . so many possibilities . . .

(Still: Any Jugglers aroud who can link to an already existing comprehensive system?)

ahh . . . .
forgot completely:

Decide which hand to use to catch either Poi . . .

:!:

I've got alot to post on this thread but I'm super busy ahhh so I will veryy soon!!

Ok now.

Excellant thread for one!

Also that one where you mentiong a double throw split time so its toss>>toss>catch>catch, those are known as showers Sphism/smilesmiley

Well other things you can do with them. A double toss doesnt have to be in the same plane

Example

1>> Hipmill. As each poi reaches 9:00 , toss them both across the body to reach the other side, one crossing the back. Catch them with the other hand while still doing a hipmill, same direction or ops doesnt matter.

So,having used that to paint a bit of an image of it, its a shower toss landing in the other hands in the exact same pattern as before

2>> Release>>Toss>>Catch>>Catch

3>> Pulled-releaase Accelerated Toss>>Catch both

You can also do differant catching styles with double throws such as this

1>> In say a double rev toss, as it's beginning its second revolution or something, instead of catching it when its done just bust your hand right in there and catch it inbetween its spinning. So say your doing a double throw with each poi doing a double rev toss, and at some miscellaneous spot in -their- spin, grab 'em.

Or

2>> Shower toss>>Slapping a wet fish on both

3>> Any double throw, catch btl to pull them through the legs and into a reg spinning pattern

DISCLAIMER: I have not mastered most of these but have done them before so it CAN be done again. So basically what I'm saying is though I"m posting the moves doesnt mean I can do them yet Sphism/smilesmiley

-Poikid-

How did I miss this!

Some great stuff there Catherine, how far have you deleoped it since you originally posted- it sounds a lot like the wibbling stuff that Matts been lighting up Uberpoi with Sphism/winksmiley

I'm pretty happy with both my poi in the air now- I don't switch that much thought the patterns you've described above may change that Sphism/smilesmiley even spinning opposite direction reels and thenreleasing in time, catching and carrying on looks pretty sweet if you land it cleanly, let alone all the fun that you can have with split time Sphism/smilesmiley

Coolio!

I've been playing with in time same and opposite direction throws recently- simply spin hip reels in time, relase and catch same time, same direction- its really pretty if you get the timing and height of each poi the same (and better staill if you catch like that after doing some same time/ direction wibbling first Sphism/gigglesmiley)

i've also started betting same direction split ime throws out of BTB WW to be caught in BTB WW on the other side of the body. Its gorgeous and a real crowd pleaser Sphism/smilesmiley
