Good Spinning / Bad times

Last weekend I went to a little festival by a lake in New York. It started out as a good time and i couldn't wait till night so i would be able to spin. After a while more and more questionable people arrived. It was obvious people were not coming to enjoy the music, meet people, and have a good time. The name of this festival was Gramma Joans Springfling but I think it should have been named "Let's go get way too fucked up in the woods". I'm far from being against people drinking and doin drugs or else i would be a hypocrite. But i am against people not doin this responsibly. Around 5 in the morning after the first night i was walking around and i notice a commotion and people are saying someone died. Sure enough somebody overdosed and the state police were on their way to investigate. This kinda killed the mood but once the police arrived they spotted another body floating in the lake. He was also another victim of overdose. Those two deaths were the third Ive seen in week and a half so it was kinda spooky. I guess three other people had to go to the hospital from an overdose and one girl ahd to be revived thier cause she almost died also. After all this the mood of the event was cold and people started gettin in fights the next day. All the happy people left and just people who wanted to get messed up stayed it really ruined the weekend. Even though all that happened some good came outta it though. I finally got to spin in front of a large audience which was really fun. I even met a couple other people and reffered them to this site. I also finally got my dreads put in and they are starting to come togther now which really makes me happy. I met some really cool people that i never would ahve met otherwise. One of the people i met was a proffessional body peircer so he peirced my tongue for free. The weekend wasn't a total loss alot of good came outta it but I just wish people would learn to limit themselves and not take their lives for granted It's such a terrible thing to waste.
