Trolling for hugs

I'm having a crappy day at work. Everything is going wrong. 5 of my peers got promoted today - and I got skipped over. I found out that two of the people who work for me have basically been lying to me and hiding things from me for a couple of weeks - so I've been made to look like a fool. I kind of hate my job to begin with, but now it's torture to try to sit here and not cry.

This is my shameless appeal for something to make me smile.

I wish I could fire people - but I work for the government. Which means, of course, that lots of incompetent people keep jobs they don't deserve and get promoted when they're not deserved - and those of us who refuse to play the politics game get lost in the shuffle.

I **love** the scuba-kitty. Awesome.

And I'm totally taking your advice and going and spinning tonight. There's a rave-type outdoor fire festival party tonight, and I'm kind of organizing the fire people for it. So I just have to make it through the next six hours or so without sticking a fork in somebody's chest.

I think I can make it. Maybe I'll even lock my door and spin my socks in my office. I don't think anyone would notice - and clearly they think I'm incompetent anyway.

Thanks everybody. I wound up having a pretty great weekend - and I've made it through 7 hours of today without hurting anyone, so I think maybe work has settled down a little bit. I still don't like it, but at least it's bearable.

Onward to happier times!
