Stuff broken while spinning

Not funny exactly, but a warning. I lent my fire poi to someone I didn't know very well (but that others at the gathering had spun with before.) I told him to be careful - they were my first homemade pair, and I didn't use teh right ball chain connectors, etc etc. I had never had a problem with them in over a year, and I check the hardward regularly. Anyway, this guy takes my poi, detaches the head and reattaches it next the other one and doubles the length of my poi by connecting the two chains. (All of this while I was otherwise indisposed ... I thought he was just soaking and spinning off) He then proceeds to spin this single concoction at blazing speed. Of course one of the poi heads goes flying over the edge of the roof. The idiot didn't even stop then, he continued to spin the thing until I grabbed the gloves from the safety and went over there and put it out. He never apologized, never offered to go get the head, basically didn't say anything at all. I was stunned. Another friend of mine went downstairs and found it - no one and nothing got hurt (luckily!!) but now I'm a bit of a b!tch whenever anyone asks to use my stuff. I ask them how long they've been spinning and I ask them to show me a few moves unlit first. Which reminds me of another as--- ah, forget it, there's plenty of threads about morons--- Prodon my digression. In asnwer to the original thread: In my apartment I've broken at least five glasses that were in the drying rack when I knock them over with my sock poi.

i always found the state of lamp shades in poiples houses quite funny, like at one of my friends house they have no they had a really big round paper lamp shade hanging from the ceiling, this lamp shade was there for years in good condition until the pois, devils sticks, staffs and juggling balls came in! every time i went up there wud be a new hole in the poor lamp shade after a while all that was left practically was wires and shredded paperso it got chucked away! other than that i dont really break stuff i just hit and knock stuff, actually wait i did break a lamp shade that i gave to my cousin for christmas :oops: or one time i was practising throws and one of my pois flew and hit a freind smack in the middle of the forehead that was really funny!

I have only broken one thing with my poi and that was a little egyptian bottle me dad got me. Half of it is missing now, but if you turn it around no one knows. Not funny at all but it is broken.

However. When I used to spin in vegas I was continually getting the poi caught in the highest branches of trees. I've gone through several pairs thanks to that. Once went ontop of my friends house. Other time ontop of the parking shade thingy. Also would randomly fly at passing old people. Dont know why.. my strings always decided to break when a really old person was walking by. Needless to say not many came by my house after a while. Ooph, I did accidentally hit a guy I was teaching in a rather tender spot. That's his fault for plane-walkin tho!

:25 Dude, thats crazy... when the hell was this? Did you get done for it? I'd be rather annoyed if that happened to me (and glad not to be injured by flying glass, rocks or the crash itself...

One time I was spninning in my living room and i accidently hit the bird cage hanging from my ceiling. Well the bottom fell out of it and crashed to the floor spilling droppings, seeds, and water everywhere. Not to mention both of the birds started flying around the house which freaked me out causing me to run in the other room. For some reason birds freak me out if they are flying around close to me. I had to make one of my riends catch them cause i wouldn't touch them. Luckily the birds were okay. This did cause me to move the birds away from the mirrir i spin in front of whem I am spinning inside. I used to have net christmas lights covering my ceiling in my room and i broke countless numbers of those while spinning. I also broke a light bulb once and a huge peice fell right next to my bare feet and stuck right in the ground. 8O It was a pretty close call. Thats about all I've broken I think can't remember right now...

Well I have yet to kill any light bulbs, but I've done quite a bit of damage to the basement ceiling...

Oh, and never talk about how you rarely hit things any more while you're spinning, because you will hit something.

Just remembered something

Me mom was cooking something while I was spinning my socks in the dining room (more room in there). Either way a toss went really bad and ended up landing in the pot of food... I think it was a stew of some kind dont quite remember though.

I was in a car going 100k/hr and i threw a water balloon out the window... it would have all been okay if i didn't hit a truck's windshield. It turns out he was also going 100k//hr the other way. so, beleive it or not the water balloon broke his window, and he turned around and caught up to us, and now i have to pay for a wind sheild.

Yay, I just wrecked my first object, my paper lampshade, while spinning. woo woot...x
