Type of poi more condusive to hyperloops
Hey Rheo,
How's tricks?
I wouldn't say you are using the wrong type of poi but there are certainly easier poi to use for hyperloops.
In fact I even changed my beloved 'dog' poi setup in order to practice hyperloops and i haven't looked back. Funnily enough though after practicing with socks I found I could easily do hyperloops with my old poi as well.

Click the link above and take a look at the poi design and component forums set up by Dub.
I have to say I prefer Sock Poi to any other design. I love that they are so basic and so cheap. No frills, Big skills. But then I'm from around London, where orange sock poi are practically a prerequisite
Sock poi feel super nice if you wrap the end around your wrist and hand so it holds on to you rather than the other way round. This is a good place to start for hyperloops.
If you wanna throw the poi then your best bet is to tie a series of knots (I use loop, through loop, through loop). Then you've just to play around with how many knots and how long you want them.
Hope this helps,

Heavier ends make for much easier hyperloops. I've got rubber juggling balls in the ends of my sock poi. But I can do basic hyperloop stuff even with my tail poi now.
