International Forums
I finally added a few new forums for other languages.
I speak bad french and even worse italian.
Please can some poiple write introduction threads in german, spanish, french and italian.
If there's anything you want added, or if you wanna tell me how to write eg german speaking forum correctly...then post below
I used Google translate. It works, a little. If you've never used it you should check it out

I disagree with the use of specific foreign-langages intended section on Sph,

We should all speak the same langage .. e.g. English
Moreover if we start having different forums / thread ..
it's gonna be a real mess .. it's already a lot of section in there
I guess that like in France people have their dedicated juggling forum with spin section .. just like what we have in France on jongle.net
but well if we gotta start that ..
then I can do the French/English translation
International Forums
actually.. I remember having a link on one of my other forum sigs to a google translation of a poi site.. it was SOOOOOOOOO funny at how bad it was... or rather the translation itself was just funny...
I wish I could remember the link.. because I can't remember any of the real funny stuff... "first and then to turn the chains.. here we tkae the chains to infinity.."
Knowing poi it was easy to understand what he was trying to say.. but wow.. I need to use google to find that site my french professor showed me.. it had maybe 8-10 different languages it converted... you type in and it translates and was spot on.. grantedI didnt pop in any dissertations but... itr was more helpful then google itself.. I'll ask him when the semester starts..

Yeah. I hear ya. When spherculism started out though there seemed to be a lot more 'non-english' speaking poiple.
I think that all the crazy banter has scared a lot off because they don't seem to post any more
Tell me i'm wrong
Anyway. I was gonna put those forums up ages ago but didn't becaseu i didn't want to segregate poiple.
However. I would love there to be more poiple around here who don't speak english. For one thing it would mean they could learn more poi related english and i could learn more french, spanish and italian.
I understand that if you can type in english then you probably don't need a different forum but how about if you only speak french? Then i'm guessing you use jongle.net and nothing else.
I dunno, how about taking a vote on it. Although only english speaking poiple will vote.
I would love for the poidia to be translated into loads of languages and i was hoping these forums would help.
Of course I would rather set up spherculism francais, spherculism italiano and so on.
Oh i dunno,

I don't think it's a great idea, useful perhaps for attracting more non-english speaking users which is a GREAT idea, but if we can encourage people to post in whichever language they wish in the english forums it'd be better as, in real life if my french friends speak french to each other in the same room as me i think it's amazing (elles (s?)ont tres belles filles! )
...least till they point and laugh whilst doing it anyway...
International Forums
...also, meaning no disrespect whatsoever who can help but laugh at a little pidgin english hehehe, i hope i cause as much mirth in french and german!

Alright. Here's my thoughts.
It splits it I think. I know it'd be great to be able to have more international speaking people here but realize something man. You're giving them a forum , which is great, cause then the community will have more international speakers. But get this. That means, that the majority of people here which by the way, that majority speaks english, do not speak those other languages. So really, we'd have about 5 people in each forum at most...and the rest of the community.. never talks to them. And can't. So this doesnt help the community at all because most of the community speaks english
Thats my thoughts. I dont mean to diss it at all but.. thats it.
International Forums
Matt> dunno either
In French we still don't have vocabulary for move / pattern / combos ..
I personnaly encourages Frenglish ...
Anyway it would surely be the first step to translate the poidia
I know from post I read on jongle.net that
French are not reading much of this site .. because it's in English (casual complaints + charging of *.swf is slow )..
Concerning Latine cowntries (France / Italy / Spain): people are bad at foreign languages .. it's no big news
you can't change that ... if people don't want to make efforts .. dammit
Anyway,
current standpoint is:
French are starting spinning ... level is poor compare to the UK
but it's getting bigger and bigger
The best that we can do is :
to translate the poidia + some hypertextlinks to your media database
then it will be international tutorials and a good starter for the community
People really interested / english-speakers will participate to current Sph/PiP/HoP/GSc/.. threads, and feedback the foreign threads
There will always be a lag ... that will shorten with time
I'll post on jongle.net (if it's not done yet), so that you get more people on the site
International Forums
just wait for the bandwidth rape from other sites!!! Scuse my french! But maybe you should try and liase with foreign sites and get them to also host your tutorials (of course with credits!)
International Forums
If the international forums is what the community wants then I'll do what I can to help them out.
I'm right now learning Italian... so I could help with that in due time. Won't be soon tho it'll take me a bit to get the language down
International Forums
So how about this.
1) I'd like people to upload links to other poi and circus sites around the world. I get a list of every site that links here and i love to see all the non english ones.
To this go to Tutorials >>> Add Link (I know that makes no sense but I jijacked the web links module for the tutorials
)
2) Now that I know how to, I will set up another Wiki site for francais, espanol and deutsch.
3) Poiple that are fluent in those languages can translate the english wikipoidia.
4) I can scrap the international forums if no one wants then, I would rather see poipple posting in their own language in the regular forums.
Any thoughts?
