do you practise normally with unlit glowies or some other form of poi? i tried practising with some burnt out ones and found it really dull compared to my other poi - admittedly i was pretty bad at poi and a had crap laces at the time, but i know you can now get glowies pretty cheap in bulk and was wondering if you offset that cost for your enjoyment whilst practising!

Also what do you use as your strings? What make of glowsticks do you use - have tried ones bought in clubs as well as ones from cyberdance shops, the cyberdance ones were the worst by a mile but even the others seemed nowhere near as visible as yours. When you spin in clubs do you find them a lot less visible than in your videos? Can see me getting back with them when the summer's over

Ace, I haven't got glopoi yet but have seen some on sonicstars that am gonna save up for. What's the tune your spinning to?

ask anyone..sock poi are isolation gods... and you'll get so used to spinning isolated from socks that it will come out natrually in the sticks..

sounds like you guys are saying the same thing, Rev was just saying try it out with heavier things first. Not to mention you learn isolations by spinning slower, not faster, something thats easier to do and control when you're spinning heavier poi.

why not just double/triple up on your glo stixx?

I think if someon invented lighter globalls like electro glos but smaller, lighter and of course less cool (though we gcould always hope) they'd make HELLA cash...

and orbit man I do lots of isolations.. I love the feel of them.. and the more I spin the more naturla they become.. not even from trying.. its just.. better control.. and the thing is light sock poi are where its at to learn.. because the socks slow it down.. (especially if you don't have a knot in the end.. ) and then as you grasp it.. you tie a knot and it spins a little faster.. and then you stich to the sticks.. the idea is to pracice with slwoer heavier (though not really heavy if you intend to use sticks) and work up.. because the isoaltion takes the weight off.. that's not what you ahve to get used to.. its the fact that the poi spin faster, and fall out easier.. so you need a better form to get at it with glowsticks.. trust me.. I kicked bitched and moaned for many months.. but as soon as I could do them withmy socks without thinking, they fell into my glosticks..

but yeah I love isoaltions because its like anticipation or brink of a stall just carried out all over the place.. just fun to do.. and the body movement from semi isoalting between comes wraps and stuff just adds effect.. feels like playing hackey sack with too poi..

i love the way the animated chick's breasts jiggle as she swings her poi! now that's attntion to detail...
