New to Poi...

Hi There!!!

I must say I am very new to poi. The first time I saw it was last weekend at FolkFest. I bought a pair of hackie sacks on strings. They seem to do the trick. So far I can do the butterfly and the weave. Not much else. I was wondering if anyone knows any simple tricks I can start off with.

P's,

Sarah

Yes we will all definitally be able to help you learn more.

In order of how I learned I would suggest learning the following

Alternate butterfly
Mexican wave
3 beat weave
One handed butterfly

You should probably go check out the encyclopoidia forum to find some good definitions on them. Not all defined just yet but it can always help Sphism/smilesmiley

If you would like some tips and/or overall instructions on how to do those feel free to pm me, I'm available at any time Sphism/gigglesmiley

Heya. Welcome around.
I guess I'll be taking your coat, so what's your favorite colour?
As for simple tricks, try high and low turns. They can be really fun if done one after the other.

Hiya. I'm really new too. Am learning the windmill at the minute there's also putting the butterfly behind the back and head and stuff. Always learn your moves i the opposite direction was the best bit of advice I got. xxWelcome to spherculism
