well, my name is wes. my favorite color is red, and no it's not glowstick related. =) and i guess if you wanted to check out an old video of mine you can go here to Glowsticking.com's free download section and look for WES. =P

unlike most people here, i believe that glowstringing CAN be something separate and different than poi, much like capoeria and bboying.. or waving and liquiding.

no im from a suburb of chicago, IL. i am with Glowsticking.com from the very beginning of it. a lot of the glowstringing concepts came from chicago and glowsticking.com.. i personally introduced/taught shok (the leader of stringe people/techno turtles) to a lot of the new stuff as we came up with them because i thought i saw potential. he then spreaded the those knowledge in TX.

we on Glowsticking.com like to stress the non-competitive nature that should go along with glowsticking/stringing. the rave culture always had a peaceful, loving, fun atmosphere and the dance that is practiced within should be no different. that's why we think it's important to eliminate battles (that promotes competitiveness) and crews (that could promote elitisticism).

i personally think that skill level really doesn't matter that much at all. it's much more important to be respectful, be nice to others, and just be a good person overall. if you are skillful, it will show.

that was my goal, to try and differentiate glowstring from poi. so that it can be different. not only just different because we swing different things around, but different in terms of how we present the dance.
