Fire Guy saying Hi

Hi folks, just saying hi. Nick Woolsey from thevenue.org was aghast when I told him I hadn't visited this site yet. I'll check it out in more detail over the next little while.

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and work for a "big" company doing web stuff. I also do my own web stuff on the side.

I spin staff (never got the hang of poi) and I also help my wife run a fire toy supply company.. (Guess we're going to have to link to this site!!!)

I work a lot, but I hope to do some playing soon too, and maybe end up at burning man this year.

Take care, be well, and share the flame!

Hey, welcome xxx

:57 Welcome!

I've always said the world needs more fire guys :18 Sphism/gigglesmiley

Interesting to see those poi of yours use regular chain.
It's what I opted for when I customised my monkeyfists but for some reason not many people seem to use it Sphism/confusedsmiley
Works great for me anyway

This is a cool community, and growing fast.
Hope it's as good as Nick made it out to be!

Hi Fireguy!

I think I might have met your wife Lori when she was here in the Bay Area for the Fire Arts Festival. Welcome to the site!

Roger/Orbit

Welcome to the site.
I like seeing more Canadian poiple on the site.
So have you got a favorite colour?

Hello there Sphism/gigglesmiley

Hi. Sphism/smilesmiley
Welcome, welcome.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes folks!

StoneT: my wife is the builder, and she's always messing around with what works best, right now she really likes chain on her poi.

Orbit: she was down at the Fire Arts Festival and so was I! Wow, it blew my mind some of the cool sculptures I saw. I'm just whacking together the last of the templates and then I'll be adding a photo gallery to her site with some of the pics.

djmagicfairy: I'm not sure if I'll learn poi, I might have to. I saw some video of the COL stuff, and this one guy was AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. It's pretty insance what some people can do with poi. I do like my staff though.

alphapoi: the link to my wife's site is in my SIG, I think... though it's not super obvious that it's a link. Sphism/smilesmiley

Achluophobia: my favourite colour? I'm leaning toward ember red at the moment. Sphism/smilesmiley

Fire arts festival? Whereabouts is that?? Sphism/smilesmiley See ya later!

poikid, the fire arts festival is in Oakland California. You can find details on it at The Crucible, but sadly it's over for 2005.

Hey folks, note sure where to post this, but I've started to make a list of all the fire performance groups I know of. It's at del.icio.us. If you know of a group that has a website and is missing from the list, please let me know!

Hey fireguy, good to see you here at last,

I just saw nick and andrea last night in brighton. Nick's on his way back to vancouver now tho.

I may come visit in a few months. You must be luxotica right? We should definitely swap links, i've heard only good things about your products.

Anyhow, there's some staff videos floating around in the gallery section, Tim and Mike are very very good and there's some cool stuff in there to play with.

Enjoy your stay,

m

Hello Fireguy,
The little FireBird, whom has yet to spin fire bids you greetings to this site. I think that's cool you have a fire shop. I'm sure you'll get a lot of business from here. Anyways, welcome to the site and hope to see you around. Take it easy. Laters!
