Poi Cubed and Flowers
Box stuff. I like to call this Poi Cubed.
I love it. It'll be in here at some point but if leart too early could seriously screw up someones understanding of the importance of planes. If you don't have serious control of your planes already then your cubes are gonna suck, it'll look worse than if you didn't know them at all.
Flowers: I don't really do flowers in a robotic sense. I use the theory in every other move I do and just see them as a means to hit the beats on time. So I doubt I'll ever do any vids of them. My buddy [Nx?] is the man for flowers, so if I ever manage to get the london crew down to brighton I'll be sure to get some film of him doing them.
You might get some theory videos though, slow motion, diagramatic. Isolations, stalls and flower theory would all be done in this way because I don't think any of those should be considered 'moves' but rather Style which can be superimposed over everything else.
Remind me in March and I'll sort it out.

Mathias: I'll go into great detail about 'Poi Cubed' (This is what Achluo called 'Box Stuff' (~ Box = Cube, Stuff = A group of things)
For Flowers you wanna persuade Nix to tell you all about it.
Cubes take a huge amount of precision to do well ~ Anything less than this and they will make your poi look really bad. So I'm not gonna put this stuff up just yet. It's pretty new to me. It worries me that if poiple get into it too early then they will never develop the plane control needed to do them.

Yep, that's the best thread i've read on the subject.
Still unsure about the need for such mechanicalness with them though. Good practice for getting your timing band on.

i dunno where mat gets this 'mechanical' thing from.... but
yeah, that artical has most stuff on same direction flowers. basically they are pretty ways to make seperated circles, and matt is tottally right, they just overlay ontop of everything else.. the only thing i would say is thay are the thing for learning reverse spinning. which is pretty jedi. *cringe*
actaully flowers has lead me onto a whole new ways of thinking about poi, which is not about how hard a move is, but what sort of pretty patterns can i make with my trails....
boxes, yeah, forget em untill you can run everything real smooth in one plane before you start trying to do things in two planes.
if yer really desperate go have a look at the artical on poiinthepark, yup, i wrote it. but i warn you, im still just begging to experiment with this stuff.
