How did you find out about spherculism?
So i'm just wondering how you all found the site.
I mean. I advertised it on hop and pip until we had 100 members and haven't advertised it anywhere since.
So did you follow link from hop, or did you hear about it from a friend or were you one of the lucky few to find it on a search engine?

I voted "other means", although i guess it was indirectly HoP. Your videos are famous Matt
and that's how i found the site. someone linked to one fo the vids, and i went to the main page from there

Christmas 2003 I think I was searching for a new poi site and was blow away and fully inspired to go off and pratice! Althought it may have been through HOP?

last winter i met alphapoi he teached me playing poi and a couple of month later he told me about the site. i love to visit your site and met all the poiple here.

I was looking for some good videos on HoP when I was beginning my poi education.
I saw many posts from a 'PoiPoiPoi', who was giving link to his new vids.
I clicked once, said "Wooah ! ", got a 8O face, and became immediatly a member.

How did you find out about spherculism?
I think it was indirectly through HoP, although I checked off "other means." Basically, someone I know IRL is on HoP all the time and told me about it. I was intimidated by HoP. So I checked this out and was AMAZED by the tutorials and Poi Kid's amazingly welcoming and friendly manner, and the super-high level discussions, and the encyclopoidia .... all things that are still blowing my mind, since I will probably be a newbie forever ... but I'm continually inspired by this site - and I've made some friends here, too.
I'm babbling. I guess you weren't looking for all that info, but hey! I'm at work, but leaving for Burning Man in three days, so I'm finding it hard to concentrate on anything besides poi, tents and hula hoops!

I found it on one of Matt's posts on HoP. About my 6-7th month into poi. It was in the video section, post was something along the line of three videos for one.. or...um..ok I dont remember what the post was called. Either way it was a sweet little tossing pattern and that was my first introduction to Spherculism. Loved it ever since

I think I found it via HoP. Seemed like a much easier community to join because there are approx. 203985938qx members already.

I joined spherculism from a link on HOP so that I could view the fabled ppp tutorials. The flashness was the extent of the site that I explored until I realized there was a message board here too! My posting on HOP has almost stopped completely, because I feel much more welcome here - people seem more open to discuss a variety of topics, even if they've been discussed before. Thanks to Matt and to the cool poisters that make spherculism great!

djmagicfairy: How on earth did you find this site on google? I have never managed to. I don't really want it to be easy to find, hence the name. To be honest I'd prefer it if there weren't any links from hop either. Oh well.
Thanks for the kind words from everyone but this place would be very dull if it was just me, you make it what it is. So thanks for that.

I think i found it through google as well not completly shaw but i think i wrote something like weave vid or something along thos lines. can't think of any other way have been on hops cummunity in years. prefer it hear.
ps. matt, wildcat is such a good shop like the new mods on the site. soooo cheap i got two 7mm tunnels for 5.00 pounds!!! quarter of the price in the highstreet and better quality.
