wow I made it..
it seems forums and me don't get along.. pk had to add me to his site too for the same reason... Ah well..
so about me.. I hit one year of poihood this month.. I learned all my basics through HoP.. If you can follow how I type, then I can help ya out a lot.. otherwise I probably wont make sense most of the time.. lol.. anyway... I'll be checking out the sections and stuff, tom. night.. I just wanted to log on and say I made it..

Glad to have you aboard Rev.
Too early to type.

wow I made it..
I gotcha some new peeps comig check out some of your vids..you have some of the better tutorials that I've seen... hehe.. I've seen some of the more knowledgeable spinners log on here since I made the post on glowsticking.com... that should help add to some of the mroe technical discussions... like on pk's site..
wow I made it..
Nice one Rev.
Yeah, more techy geeky nerdy poiple. That's what we like
The videos aren't really tutorials. They are more like a 'common point of reference'
The Idea being that to discuss complex movements its handy to say things like; 'twist your arms round each other like in this vid'
There is very little tutoring in the clips themselves. If poiple have absolutely no idea what i'm doing then they are probably not quite ready to learn that particular pattern.
It's funny though 'cos that video shoot was never intended to go up on the net. It was just a bit of personal film to catalogue everything i know about poi. There are still about 180 more clips to put up and I reckon I missed out at least another 100 patterns.
I haven't been advertising the site at all any more. Once we hit 100 members I stopped pushing it. I like the idea that poiple who join up now do so because they are ready to.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a couple 12 and 13 year olds around discussing the throws they can do. That makes me happy.
My goal is to teach poiple to spin better than me.
See you around,

that's my point.. and toxic.. is a talented kid.. but they are so young these days.. I think its funny though.. he's 16 and he's been spinning longer then me... if only I'd had this then..alas.. I resolve to learn what I can and teach others... I learn stuff so quick because I kinda understand the physics, sort of... anyway... I think I've come a long way in the year I've been spinning... this year month hit one year, and my style has chnaged sooo much just this past month... I think I'm in one of those move spurts... but its been mostly wraps...and wrap theory..
I forgot to add that I posted the site because the vids in the tutorial section are done really well and clear.. and a lot of this stuff is talked about all over glowsticking.. and I figure you and mot have nice clear vids to refer to when they are learning things...
and so far the people that have come over have loved the site... like I said a lot of them are good talented kids... they are definately the ones we'll be having heavy technical discussions with when they get a little older and poi nerdier.. lol..
wow I made it..
Hiya. What country are you from?

why hullo mr rev
i think i may have just started a fairly pointless and arbritrary argument about weave definition.
this site is not good for keeping my nerdiness supressed
but it is extremely fun chatting with you about this stuff, so for that i thank you
How many other spinners are around where you live? If you're isolated, then the amount of knowledge you've picked up from text and vid is pretty crazy.
wow I made it..
Howdoo there Rev
Just dropping by to say thanks (and hullo ofcourse), my wraps are coming along much better after reading your wrap thread :42

-Poikid-
wow I made it..
I forgot to check my thread...
ok 1) I'm from louisiana.. one of the erm-holes of the world... and I've been spinning a year last month...
2)I'm completely isolated.. I ahve itchell who spins a different style form me.. and I have astro who I'm still trying to convince needs to learn the 5bt weave and higher (he spins fire and has uber-control, but never went far base the primaries..) and that's about it.. everyone once in a while I run inot a guy at the club that can do a thing or two but dang (I'm learning to curb myself) apart from me and itchell, noone does anything more then the hop basics..
3) I love our discussions monkey man.. even though I'm kinda ticked about the way I get jumped on the tangle names.. I love the actual tangle discussion outside of that.. just not the name thing.. sorry if I flame a little on that.. but you can ask spiral I really love the technical discussions... I've said this 1000 times.. I can not do it unless I understand it.. period.. as someone pointed out to me "only called shots matter"- sorak and the only thing I can say is that learning to read and learning what I'm doing has made the difference.. ALL the difference.. the better I learn to read and write the better I understand what I'm doing, thus the better I get, thus the better i can read and write.. so I strongly encourage people to learn how to read and write this stuff.. you increase your knowledge a heapum-big-bunches-and-alot.. and when you learn the theory/technical side, you will be able to learn moves wuicker because you will be able to 'see' what should be done.. even without video... that's also why I love reverse stuff.. you can see how it works, as opposed to forwadf stuff which does a lot outside our sight..
wow I made it..
damn straight
plus, geeky poi conversations are really addictive...

So who thinks Rev should be a moderator on this site???
Or perhaps that should be...
If anyone knows of any reason why Rev should not be a moderator, speak now or for ever hold your peace.

Aha! Home to Bluecat & Nix. I'd love to go round there sometime, and who knows, maybe in August I'll be back round that way and hopfully I'll be there more than the two whole days I managed last time with a 7 hour drive each way!
