Box
A box is where you are spinning each poi at 90 degrees to the other (much like in atoms) but the centres of rotation are separated enough so that the paths of the poi only meet at the edges of the spin i.e. as if the two circles were sides of a box.
This allows moves to be done where the poi swap planes each beat using plane breaks.
Matt, your plane break diagram would be funky here, it shows the idea of boxes perfectly ![]()
Now I might get round to writing an article on box weaves in a bit...

Defined ~ Box
There ya go.
Theory:
The diagram is drawn from your perspective.
The wall plane and wheel planes meet at the points marked 'X'.
When the poi reaches that point it is effectively on both planes.
If you very quickly change the center of rotation of the poi from one plane to another then the poi head will continue on the other plane.
Remember that the poi head will continue in the same direction, the arrows give you an idea of what i mean.
Practice this with each hand for ages. It can be made perfectly seemless. Then you can apply this "Space Modifier" to any and all your other patterns.
5bt Impossible weaves look bonkers.
Don't forget that there is another wall plane behind you that you can turn towards or spin btb. Also there is floor and ceiling planes to complete the box.

Cool, if nobody disagrees with the definition I shall add it up soon and add your text underneath as a sort of how-to/tutorial section
