You know chut, you're right it has been pretty quiet around here recently.

My heart just hasn't been in it recently,

I intended to make a load more videos over christmas but just chilled instead, been a busy boy recently.

I have however built poibot in flash, i've learnt how to manipulate 3dMax models in Shockwave using a physics engine Put 2 and 2 together and you get poibot 3d, fully skinable, proper physics and collision detection. I'll bet you it will be tangling poi within 3 months

So sphercommerce is also just round the corner Just trying to figure out how an international village market can work. For example, treesandbeetles wants to sell some poi, he sends me some photos and text about the product, i stick it all up of the site, someone buys them from the site, money goes straight to T&B who sends out the poi and then donates some money back to spherculism.

No middle man.

Switching the site from souk to spherc shouldn't take long but i'm finding out things i need to do like register spherc as an entity of some kind ~ but i don't know quite what she is??? I've started looking into the possibilities of running spherc as a nonprofit, or not for profit organisation. But i'm pretty slack at all that stuff so if anyone can help it'd be wicked.

It always comes back to making a dvd, which isn't hard, i have all the skills and contacts but there's always been something holding me back from the dvd, i can't quite put my finger on it but something just feels wrong about it.

Then of course there's the products. I'm an industrial product designer after all. I've got a couple good designs down plus a few highend ones. The main probem is my dependancy for my 9-5 job, got a mortgage these days y'know. However, last week i only went in for about 7 hours ~ impresive even by y standards I did also manage to do a load of other work which i'm really happy with.

Anyways, i'm gonna crash. I'll tell you what tho, i promise to upload all the videos i have from the summer within the next week, mainly very cool stuff from bristol convention.

thanks andy... i'm not sure about 'modern poi' but there's definatley good things going on and an increasing awareness/interest level. it will be interseting to see where things go as poi conventions are being planned and emerging this year...

I intended to be back and posting a lot this semester since I've picked up my poi again, but found myself caught in two dilemmas..
1- I can't explain a lot of what I'm doing now because I don't understand it..
2- I don't have time to really work it out because they are making me graduate this semester instead of this summer, meaning I have to take all my non-thesis exams in the middle of the semester in whihc I'm taking more than a full schedule of a classes that are ALL pertinent to the tests I'm taking..

It seems most of the poi sites of calmed down a bit... I think its because people need time to absorb a lot of what happened last year... pretty much all of the major topics have been discussed for about a year now.. So its time to fully absorb that, and let the next evolution begin..

Yay - it's like a homecoming celebration 'round here these days. It seems as though everyone was caught up in other things for the depth of winter, and now that spring is beginning to peek out, we're all starting to peek out too.
