Clerics 3 stick stringing video

Hey guys. I mostly troll around here but i have a new video of something i came up with and I thought i should share.

It's still really rough and i've got a long way to go with it but let know what you guys think. And if anyone can think of way to improve it (i already know i gotta smooth it out) let me know. I need some sparks of inspiration thanks guys.

hey people... a few of you have checked this out now.. anyone want to give him some feedback..

I particularly liked the idea.. its still in its early stages, but I thought maybe since some of you guys are known to dabble a bit in juggling as well as poi, might be able to offer better feedback then I did when he showed it to me...

Hey cleric, good to see you around.

Thanks for posting that wicked vid.

That's some of the smoothest glostringing i've seen, I couldn't even figure out what you were doing for the most part ??? Sphism/smilesmiley

Is the blue glostick on a string, i can't work it out???

I'd love it if you could write a little about how you do all that mind game stuff, 8O ~ it still baffles me.

There's a guy i know in london ~ devkev ~ who spins 2 poi whilst juggling 3 balls, he's definitely the guy you wanna bounce ideas off of. He doesn't post a lot round here but you can usually find him on hop. I'll see if i can temp him over here, i know he'll definitely wanna see this video.

I love it whenstick seems to levitate from one hand to the other, looks totally crazy. Also when you get the 2 green sticks in a constant airwrap and toss the blue one across ~ i can't believe you managed to get out of that one Sphism/gigglesmiley

Do you use counter weights on the handles of your poi? If so you can do some crazy throws. The last set of poi i made had glo balls in the head and tiny little LED flashlights in the handle. When you toss the handle around the head ~ the head kinda levitates and you you see the LED orbit it. Looks great because people can't see the handle LED when you're holding it.

Mixing that technique with your extra stick could look absolutely crazy.

BTW: Are they glosticks or some kinda led toy?

Anyways, Thanks for posting such a badass vid, looking forward to seeing some more of the same.

matt

ps If you have premiere or something you could probably adjust the levels of the video so we can see you better and still see the glo trails, might have a little fiddle with it myself. It's very good quality tho. Most glo stuff i see like this is far more grainy.

excellnt vid man. i can offer no advice really.... but well enjoyed it.peace

Not to sound like a fan boy or anything ...BUT... THANKS MATT YOU OWN.

It really is an honor to see those kind words written by you.

The "blue stick" is actually a white. But whatever. No it wasn't on a string. It was completely free. So i could have thrown it my pocket or put it in my mouth or whatever and it wouldn't affect the other 2 stick in any way shape or form.

They were just your average everday 6 inch chemical glowsticks. LED sticks make me screw up even more cause I just have the thought in my head that i'm going to break them.

The tossing the stick over the constant airwarp/"orbital" was actually my first idea for the whole thing. I wanted to see if i could do it and poof it worked the first time so i figured i should keep pushing to see where else it could go.

Yeah i have premier but i don't have the slightest idead how to use it beyond cutting the film and adding transitions. If you want to mess around with it. Be my guest. I couldn't care one way or the other.

Rev also mentioned about the dvd you were planning on making and i should try to get something in. Would glow stuff like this be ok (granted i'm sure it would ahve to be way cleaner)?

I don't claim to be anywhere near an expert in these matters, but that orbital was aboslutely incredible Sphism/shocksmiley
I had to re watch those few seconds over and over again!

I think Matt is bang on with the throws, it's a very tight glow stringing video, but maybe bring in a bit more of a modern poi twirling aspect and it will make for some incredibly mesmerizing trails.

Immortal--What do you mean more "modern poi".

Rev gave me a good idea which is to get comfotable with spinning in isolations (or close to somehting like that) because the motion you use for the isolation would be perfect for a throw.

excellnt vid man. i can offer no advice really.... but well enjoyed it.peace

argh! the weight on glowsicks always makes me mess up because i'm a slow spinner, so that alone impressed me, than your use of visual transitionf of stick to stick.
It was impressive, Good job...

Yeah, I've seen Kevin spin at Spitz... Could watch for ever and still never understand how he does it so smoothly.

Sweet vid dude- thanks for sharing Sphism/smilesmiley
