I always used to think chasing the sun was a pointless move and never really liked same-same stuff. I never could feel a good flow with it and really neglected all that can be done with this type of spinning. You can do pretty mucy all the butterfly and weave patterns with this except it's smae time. Why this never dawned on me is beyond me but I am quite obsessed with this stuff right now.
in the last 4-5 years i put all my energy in mastering poi moves. some days ago i asked myself.... "and what about staff???" So I bought a nice firestaff and started to practice. it s really really interesting... now i m attached to my staff (and of course to my poi).
I had a bit of a weird one last night . . . hadn't spun for 5 days due to family stuff, which is the longest I've left it since I started about 8 months ago.
Yesterday I came home from a hard day at work feeling really, really shitty, collapsed on the sofa for a while and vegetated
I know this probably isn't something new to any of you here, but on the weekend I just had my first chance to spin fire. I've been spinning on and off since Late Feb using socks (literally tennis balls and knee socks) up until the middle of August when I finally bought a set of wicks and better sock poi.
Well, let me just start off with saying hello...and yes I am back. Been dealing with alot of life for a little while and its time to chill out and relax a bit. In my off time, I did however finally come to grasp the dual btl 360...and with a reversal to boot. As a matter of fact, I was jsut practicing it a little while ago.
so after i get back from ohio last month i decide i want to play with glowsticks. well, what's the one super cool glowstick maneuver that can't happen with poi...? handle/head color changes!!
My poi were falling apart a bit so I made some new ones with handles that are mini beanbags (instead of the loops tied in my old ones) and: Mon Deu! Sacre Bleau! And other (probably badly spelled) french! Throws appeared!
I just learned a front crosser going the other way, I previously could only do it one way. Now both, woo hoo! I learned a ... hyperloop? I'm assuming it's that one anyway. It enters on one side and exits on the other. It was on one of the tutorials, so if desired I can grab the link to show.
had a rewarding few days in the domain of poi. on thrusday following a rise in temperature from minus 15 to 0 degrees, i was able to spin fire outside for the first time in weeks . did a gig at a mates concert and pulled off all the new stuff ive been practicing.
so, yes.... knees....
in what started as a total misspin has led me down the inevitable path of seeing whether something possibly pointless has any potential.
took a good 4-5 week break from poi after summer. just had a bit of a mess about every now and again. couple of weeks ago i caught sight of a couple of new patterns. right, basically a corkscrew right infront of the body. so that the poi find a path that goes between the chest and the bicept areas whilst the hands are about hip level.
So I started to spin fire a few weeks ago. I met some kid who spins fire and been hanging out with him it's been fun. I also bought a pair of fire poi myself. Just wanted to share some good news, well for me at least. It's a lot of fun. Thats all for now.
I ve got some problems with hyperloops. Actually I got it from backward wave from right to left and form left to right side, BUT from a forward wave i do always some mistakes, but what, i can t figure it out. What i see is a BIG knot all the time. Any tipps????? Thanks...
I really want some LED / glow poi, specifically battery ones, cos glowsticks are expensive when your a student with no job lol.
Does anyone have any reccomendations? (sp lol) i've no idea so anything would be cool,
long time since I should have done that ..
so well I've passed a lot since I got started w/ Sph .. thanks to ya all for sharing
so here is a non-exhaustive list of some of my last interests (since beginning of summer):
